18.01.2022 Due to the three day Covid lockdown in the Greater Brisbane area, which is currently due to end at 6pm on Monday 11 January (tomorrow), the gym will not re-open until Tuesday 12 January at 5pm. Assuming there are no further Covid disruptions, classes will operate as normal from 5pm on Tuesday.

14.01.2022 Tomorrow night (Tuesday) at 8:30pm AEST, Fox Sports 503 are premiering an in-depth behind the scenes look at the biggest boxing event of the year - Jeff Horn v Tim Tszyu. It's called FIGHTING WORDS - HORN v TSZYU. I'm sure it will be very interesting.

14.01.2022 There will be no training tonight, Tuesday or Wednesday at the Stretton Boxing Club due to the Horn-Tszyu fight. Normal classes will resume on Thursday evening.

11.01.2022 The club will be closed this coming Tuesday 26 January for Australia Day - public holiday.

10.01.2022 Our Andrew Hunt will take on Luke Woods in a very big fight on December 3 at The Fortitude Music Hall in the Valley, Brisbane. This will be a great fight between two former Australian amateur champions, who are both making a big name for themselves in the professional ranks. Andrew represented Australia at the World Championships as an amateur whilst Luke represented Australia at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. It's wonderful to see these two brilliant boxers putting their reputations on the line. The main event will be Justis Huni fighting Arsene Fosso, which will be a super fight. There's also a suite of other topline bouts on the card, including Issac Hardman, Ben Kite, Shannon O'Çonnell and more. 08.01.2022 So sorry to see Andrew Maloney robbed today. I can only congratulate Andrew on how well he fought and also on how well he conducted himself after the fight, given the bitter pill he was forced to swallow. He is a true champion and will soon have that belt back around his waist where it rightfully belongs. I was also very impressed with Terence Crawford's demolition of Kell Brook and have been saying for some time that, in my humble opinion, he is currently the best pound for pound boxer in the world. Kudos to Terence, Bomac and the entire team. Like everyone else, I look forward to him fighting Errol Spence Jr.

08.01.2022 There will be no training at the Stretton Boxing Club tonight as Andrew Hunt is fighting. For those who can't make it to the fight, you can watch it for free on Fox Sports 505 or Kayo, from 5.30 pm. Andrew should be on at about 6pm Brisbane time.

07.01.2022 Andrew Hunt looked good at the weigh-in today. We're looking forward to what is a really tough fight against 2010 Commonwealth Games representative Luke Woods from Tasmania. I take my hat off to these two champion boxers for agreeing to this fight. The whole card looks amazing and best of luck to all the fighters tomorrow night at the Fortitude Music Hall in the Valley.

04.01.2022 The press conference for the Horn-Tszyu fight went smoothly earlier today after we finally resolved that Jeff would walk out last for this mega-fight. Jeff capped off his training with a razor sharp workout tonight.
