22.01.2022 MAJOR PROGRESS PICS! This is the turning point... she has gone from looking like a burnt out wreck as the wife described it hahaha! to looking like i...ts actually a decent car again! Over the last few days Ive had the pleasure of speaking with Ray from Stripped Bare who has had the Monaro down at his facility and has been tasked with the job of blasting the body and all other parts and treating it to a coat of epoxy primer... I knew the body was a pretty good specimen because after Rob pulled it down at Bare Metal Restos we could see we were working with something in fairly good condition for the age of the car, but now after seeing the body blasted and now in epoxy primer, to say Im stoked is an understatement! Very happy with the condition of the body after blasting, and the progress pictures Ive been sent have blown me away! I am itching to get home and see the car pieces laid out around the body and go through it all with Rob once its back at Bare Metal Restos... I didnt embark on this journey with the idea on cutting corners and getting people down the road who know a bloke to do work on the car for as cheap as possible, as thats disrespectful to the vehicle and thats not how I operate... much to the wifes dismay this isnt cheap to go to the extent I have, but I tell you guys, this car will last as long as the pyramids the way we have gone about it... big thanks to Ray at Stripped Bare for his workmanship and passion for his line of work, it shows in the quality of the job... and Rob and his son at Bare Metal Restos for their continued efforts, I really cannot express my gratitude towards these guys and the work they do... to me, I dont label them as tradesman, these guys are craftsmen, building art on wheels... I am very lucky to be able to engage these sorts of people in the build and I encourage anyone who is thinking about building a car to not cut corners, spend the coin and get blokes like Rob & Ray to let them work their magic on their pride and joy... you will not regret it!
