25.01.2022 What the heck is that ?? Yep, St Ronan’s Cider ‘mid strength’ tins. Apple & Pear cider made by us. Fruit from mates around the Yarra Valley. We are all drinking better nowadays, (also the hang overs hurt more) and over the summer we were thinking of long arvos that didn’t involve pulling stumps up early. We were on the hunt for a mid strength cider and couldn’t find one ... Thats it weve called it ... We planted the orchard 8 years ago to heritage varieties and this is what has became of our second harvest. St Ronans Methode Traditionelle Heritage Apple Cider. Savoury, dry, amazing with the mythical beast, aged Cheddar and all things Charcuterie ... We love it !! Swing past the farm (9 Garnook Grove, Badger Creek) and have a crack. Be quick though this baby will sell out quick !! 14.01.2022 Its that time of the year !! Eric got all the blueberry gear sorted early .. Wine, fortified, sparkling & moscato finished early so we can get stuck in .... To bad the 2018 wine vintage is upon us also, so Eric doing the majority of the heavy lifting as usual .... We got some Pears up first this week. Beurre Bosc and Packham as per usual. We are also quite stoked as this is our first season (well enough to make some Cider out of any how) of some Gin Perrys from our orcha...rd (planted em seven years ago) !! The acid and tannin is so intense, think of Homer eating the 77X42 sour lemon ball, full on .... We reckon it will be a 1/7 ratio with the other fruit ... Very cool ... 06.01.2022 Well salami making was pretty darn successful last month, made from our beautiful free-range pork. After much chopping, mincing, seasoning, sausage-ing and hanging (and drinking a few very well deserved ciders of course), now we wait... Thanks to everyone who helped out! It was another great day on the farm!
