25.01.2022 Calling all LGBTQIA+ Mob! This Wednesday the 26th of August we have a special guest yarning with us all the way from the NT; Kate Jenner! Kate is an AASW Accredited Social Worker with 14 years of experience! ... Kate has been working in the Northern Territory for the last 4 years fulfilling her passions to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities. Kate has had varied roles such as a case manager for Territory Families, where she supported parents and kin groups to maintain strong and safe relationships with their little ones, and now is in a role with the School Counselling Service where she is supporting kids to break down any and all barriers to finishing their education. Throughout Kate’s career, she has been an advocate and an ally to our LGBTQIA+ community. Kate has facilitated professional development to School Counsellors across the Northern Territory focusing on inclusive practices for Sexuality and Gender Diverse young people. Kate has a strong passion for ensuring the needs of LGBTQIA+ young people are met, as well as being an advocate for all who may be experiencing any forms of discrimination. Strong Brother Strong Sister's Senior Youth Worker and Advisor ... Keeden Graham is one of the talented 21 young people selected for the Victorian Government’s third Victorian Youth Congress. Keeds we are incredibly proud of you and all your work and voice for our young people and communities. The new Victorian Youth Congress will work with the Victorian Government to ensure young people’s voices are heard in decision-making on issues of importance to all young Victorians. The youth advisory group reflects our state’s great diversity, with young people from Aboriginal, LGBTIQ and multicultural communities, as well as young people living with disability. The group includes young people aged between 15 and 25 who hail from rural, regional and metropolitan areas across the whole of Victoria.
