22.01.2022 So last week I posted about some waterfalls and posed the question about a local hidden gem, right here in our own backyard. Here it is, Bethungra Falls. Can you imagine a boardwalk to get people down here?! Whilst it doesn't run all the time like this it would make an excellent natural addition to the shire's attractions.

19.01.2022 USE OF IMAGES WITHOUT PERMISSION- The SOUTHERN CROSS MOTEL GROUP has been promoting itself using photographers images without permission. They have fbook/insta pages for each motel site which are managed from head office (not the individual site managers). The image is overlaid with the group and motel logo and a message or promo deal. I had originally negotiated with them to simply credit me on the proviso it didn't happen again. They agreed and apologised but then removed t...he image altogether. I then sent them an invoice which led to a phone conversation. They haven't paid, surprise surprise and I'm probably not going to bother chasing it. An organisation this size certainly has the capacity to pay for it's images but more importantly to do the right thing in the first place. The duplicity of their actions is that they tagged a number of their Australia Day posts with the #buyfromthebush hashtag, yet have no intention of supporting the bush by legitimately purchasing image content. It's a clear cut case of copyright breach... full stop. One thing I want to make clear for YOU reading this post on my photography page. I have NO problem with you sharing my images with your friends or to pages. You don't have to 'credit' me, just share and enjoy :) Businesses can share my photo's as long as you put a 'photo by Struan Timms Photography' credit in there somewhere, it's not a problem! What a business can't do though is what has been done here, modifying the image and placing their logo across it to directly promote themselves without permission or payment. I'm pretty flexible 99% of the time but this one is the 'line in the sand' :) Now, lets get back to enjoying really cool photography :) PS... this is not the doing of the local managers at the Junee Motel all this media is done from a central point in QLD.
