22.01.2022 April is Parkinsons awareness month with World Parkinsons Day recognised on 11 April each year. Parkinsons disease can occur at any age but is most often d...iagnosed in people over age 60. In Australia, there are approximately 100,000 people living with Parkinsons disease. There is currently no known cure, but there are effective treatments that can help manage symptoms, so people with Parkinsons disease can continue to enjoy fulfilling and productive lives. Today, we encourage you to help raise awareness of Parkinsons disease through promoting a greater understanding of this condition and how it can affect a person, and to show support for those who are affected by the disease. You can find out more about this important cause at www.parkinsonsnsw.org.au/support-us/world-parkinsons-day www.parkinsons.org.au #agedcare #WorldParkinsonsDay

09.01.2022 IN MEMORIAN PETER KOZLINA (1947 - 2020) It is with great sadness that we write to you today to tell you of the loss of our treasured and cherished Chairman Peter Kozlina. Sadly, Peter passed away on Thursday the 20th of August 2020. Peter has been affiliated with St Simeon Village & Healthcare for over 17 years. Within those 17 years Peter has been one of the biggest advocates for our Facility both with Staff and Residents. Peter has always been there to support our elderly a...nd their needs all on a voluntary basis. Peter was a man you will only be lucky enough to find once in a lifetime, he had a passion like no other for his community and was well respected for that. Peter was on just about every board you could imagine, an organiser to many a festival, also well known for creating SOYA one of the largest volunteer groups within the Serbian community. It was Peters hope that SOYA would keep our young kids engaged, teach them teamwork skills as well as new skills while also meeting new friends. He managed to achieve this and much more with his idea. Oksana, Sofija, all of the staff and Residents of St Simeon Village & Healthcare would like to extend our deepest sympathies to Melissa Peters wife, Simon Peters son, his daughter in law Nicky and the apple of his eye his granddaughter Sophie. Rest in Peace Peter you are and always will be in our hearts.
