16.01.2022 IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM QTAC: Overnight QTAC conducted internal testing of our ATAR processes ahead of the statewide release on Saturday 19 December. Regretfully..., testing of the release information rolled out into our live production space which issued ATAR notifications to 24 000 Queensland Year 12 students. As there is no data currently in the system, students may have received a notification that they are ATAR ineligible. QTAC CEO Dr John Griffiths says QTAC acknowledges this technical error and deeply apologises to our Year 12 cohort, this has no doubt caused additional anxiety during what has already been a trying year for our school community. Dr Griffiths added, We receive the Year 12 result file from the QCAA on Monday, which is when the actual calculation of the Queensland ATAR begins, we are on track for official release on Saturday 19 December Below is the timeline of events for the next seven days. QTAC ATAR Release Monday 14 December QTAC receives the Year 12 result file from QCAA Tuesday 15 December QTAC performs inter-subject scaling process Wednesday 16 December QTAC checks and validates data Thursday 17 December QTAC calculates the ATAR Friday 18 December QTAC loads the ATAR into the Portal Saturday 19 December ATAR Release An email communicating the above will be sent to those directly affected. https://www.qtac.edu.au//up/2020/12/ATAR-Testing-Error.pdf

15.01.2022 Today a group of our students had the privilege of an online session with students from St Louis High School in Kiribati in the Pacific Islands. Students from the Island Nation expressed what they loved about their school - the support of teachers and the feeling of being one big family. With 845 students and only 45 teachers resources are scarce for these students. The Maths department has one text book for the entire department, they don’t have enough books, computers or science equipment. Our students learned about challenges they will never face - like rain falling sideways that collapses the clay buildings. Money we had raised at St Teresa’s was put towards the building of a new toilet block. An amazing insight into what some students contend with in their education. #humbling #insightful #stccministry #stcc #stcclearning

13.01.2022 To all the dads, grandads and other significant males, Happy Fathers Day.

13.01.2022 As with many things in 2020 the Tiwi Islands Immersion trip had to be cancelled. However, the students who were due to go have shown the true spirit of these Immersions by continuing to support the community long after they would have travelled there. Tomorrow they are holding a free dress day for staff and students. Please wear free dress and being your gold coin (or more) to support this great innovative. #stcc #stccministry #stccimmersion
