09.05.2022 On the 07/03/22, Bayla and myself (Brendan) from Stuart River Rural fire brigade were fortunate to be able to join the Burnett strike team, which consisted of trucks from Stuart River, Mceuen, East Nanango, Taromeo, Tablelands and Bunya Mountains who were deployed to Gympie to assist in the flood clean up. When we arrived the clean up had been running for ten days, so the bulk had already been done. But we were still able to assist The Australian Defence Force, SES and loca...l fire crews in cleaning and hosing out homes and businesses. All crews worked well together, and even though the locals were exhausted and devastated but was were able to give you a smile and a thank you. The community appear to be all but finished the cleanup and are moving onto the recovery phase. The experience I think has made us better firefighters which we will pass onto our fellow crew members to better serve our own community. We wish Gympie and the rest of the flood affected country areas the best of luck and a safe and speedy recovery. See more

06.05.2022 INCIDENT: Yesterday at 1708hrs crews responded to a grass fire on Foleys rd, Goodger. The grass fire has been contained and extinguished.

24.04.2022 INCIDENT: Yesterday at 1536hrs crews responded to a grass fire at Bunya Hwy, Inverlaw. Firefighters assisted property owners in extinguishing an area of grass that caught alight from a dozer. A personal firefighting setup on a trailer was at the work site in preparation which assisted in a quick containment of the fire before crews arrival.

17.04.2022 INCIDENT: This morning at 0343hrs multiple crews responded to large structure fire at a peanut shelling plant on Reedy Creek rd, Mannuem. Crews are still on scene working to contain and extinguish the fire located inside large industrial sheds.

14.04.2022 INCIDENT: Yesterday at 1412hrs crews responded fire on Lucks rd, Inverlaw. Multiple units with the support of machinery worked to contain and extinguish a fire in a Commerical Waste area.

06.04.2022 INCIDENT: Yesterday at 1010hrs crews responded to a reported grass fire on the Bunya Highway at Taabinga. A roadside fire caused by a bogged vehicle was quickly contained and extinguished.
