LNP Candidate for Caloundra Stuart Coward said official Transport and Main Roads data shows the value of the LNP’s $300 Rego Rebate for cars and light commercial vehicles would contribute $91.4 million into the Sunshine Coast region. It’s only fair to give money back to Queenslanders after years of rego hikes under Labor and a long period when they haven’t been able to drive their cars as much because of COVID restrictions, Mr Coward said. It’s Queensland motorists’ money and we are giving it back. Queensland motorist will be able to claim the money online in December and I would urge them to spend the cash in local businesses before Christmas and New Year. LNP Member for Maroochydore Fiona Simpson said under an LNP Government, the $300 Rego Rebate would give the region the boost it needed after a really tough year. If your car is registered right now you will be able to get your $300 Rego Rebate in a matter of weeks, Ms Simpson said. Remember this $300 Rego Rebate will only be made available if the LNP wins the state election. Labor won’t give drivers a cent back on their rego they’ve spent the last five years hiking it up by almost 20%.
