The human nervous system, and the complexity of the interactions it has with the musculoskeletal system is still not well understood. Trigger points, tight muscles, joints being "out of place", and pain are responses to stimulus. Often those responses are there for a reason. A warning sign to tell you to st...op what you are doing. Watching the video below you will see someone who had a frozen shoulder (a very tricky condition) being taken through a full range of motion. Why? Because the brains connection has been cut. This has a profound impact on the skeleton as a whole and causes a myriad of problems. A loss of flexibility and mobility (yes they are different things) above and below the lumbar spine has a profound negative effect on how load is transferred through the lumbar vertebrae. 07.01.2022 I am always trying to investigate the daily movement patterns that people engage in. Sitting and standing are 2 very seemingly basic ones, but often done very poorly! These movements are hard wired into the nervous system, which means they are hard to change. To put it into numbers, it can take 100,000-300,000 repetitions before a new movement becomes autonomous. Luckily dry needling (the integrated kind) can help to reboot the computer (your brain). However the work to ...correct what has changed starts then. So being a patient patient is key (bad joke). Only 300,000 repetitions of good posture to go! How do you sit and stand everyday? Do you think "I know its bad, but itll be fine"? Ps this lady needs some support in her mid back for her to be relaxed but poised and stacked nicely .
