09.01.2022 TAG YOUR FAVOURITE SORE LOSER! It has been a wonderful Sunday afternoon at our house a quiet and uneventful day playing some of our favourite board games. The kids are pretty good, they have fun, win or lose but it got me to thinking about when I was younger I remember game boards being flipped and cards being strewn around the room. I can’t tell you who the culprit was, I don’t want to embarrass myself!

First created in 1860 by the then almost unknown Milton Bradley, The Game of Life was a quite different version to what we are used to today. Milton Bradley games is a world leader in all things board-game; however The Game of Life is the only game that was actually created by Milton himself. The original game included squa...res for poverty, suicide and prison, all of which meant that you were immediately out of the game. Milton was also a deeply religious man, and as a result, insisted that dice must not be used in the game as these were too closely associated with gambling. A six-sided spinning top called a teetotum was used instead. The modern version of the game was reinvented in 1960 100 years after the original version and was changed to have a more materialistic and family friendly gameplay.
