23.01.2022 Christmas decorations Australian made Non-toxic ink on salvaged Yarri wood Paintings by Philippa Nikulinsky, Artist https://studio-n.com.au/collections/christmas

23.01.2022 I've had this shirt for years, it belonged to my husband but I claimed it - it is one of those garments made from excellent quality fabric, the colour hasnt faded at all. As I get older I have found myself gravitating towards buying less/better quality/ethically made/locally made - these things just make more sense to me. I also work hard for my money and I want to spend it wisely - things need to last, right?! This is the foundation of my thinking when it came to creati...ng jewellery. I work with a really skilled manufacturing company in Perth, theyre using salvaged local wood and printing with non-toxic ink. The jewellery is thoughtfully designed & ethically made with the environment in mind - I simply wouldnt design and sell something that doesn't consider these fundamental (to me) elements. I would love to know what matters to you when purchasing something? Is it the Australian-made aspect? Or does it depend on the materials used, or are you purely aesthetic-driven? Let me know! 22.01.2022 As the sun was fading yesterday afternoon, and my kids ate a rather boring (they loved it) afternoon tea of pasta bows, tinned beans and vege chips, my darling husband @andrei.nikulinsky took some new photos of me. Who even likes having their photo taken? Not I! So instead of showing you a headshot, which actually turned out OK (phew), Im warming up by showing you this cute Willie Wagtail stud earring. Only 10 days until the whole Feathers & Fur Jewellery Collection is available. Got any questions about the collection? Let me know!

20.01.2022 Today Im off to get some organising supplies for our impending house & office move. 19.01.2022 Thanks for the enthusiasm and understanding on my last post, delaying something Ive been working on for a while was a sad but necessary thing to do. Anyway... I wanted to share this photo I took a few weeks ago of a. Eucalyptus kingsmillii. I found a cool description of the buds, globose and roastrate, not glaucous or pruinose but Im going to have to google what that exactly means This is an arid eucalyptus but this tree actually grows on a verge garden near my inner-Perth suburbs home. This image actually makes me think of a ! But its beautiful all the same.

19.01.2022 I often get asked if Philippa gives lessons on how to paint watercolour - she doesn't - but my friend Tessa of Ruby Tuesday Art does! She has as a online watercolour course is launching soon, which she has put in SO MUCH effort to perfect. It is split into 5 modules that you complete at your own pace and i suitable for beginners, too. And if you enrol before 1 August 2020 you get a discount (YES!!). ... I highly recommend Tessa's online watercolour course - please check out her website for more details and a link to enrol https://www.rubytuesdayart.com/watercolour-online-course

18.01.2022 I took a quiet stroll through Kings Park a few weeks ago and was delighted to see this Eucalyptus sweedmaniana fruit. Endemic to a small area in the Cape Arid National Park (Western Australia) - it’s also the species @philippa.nikulinsky painted for the cover of her books Cape Arid. I used this amazing artwork for a Christmas decoration recently (see previous posts) and they look very festive, in an authentically Western Australian way.

16.01.2022 I found a praying mantis on one of my tomato plants and showed my 3 year old daughter - she was delighted to see the wee thing, which made me so happy as a love of bugs is something we have tried to encourage. My daughter's main concern was that it would eat her tomatoes before she got the chance. https://studio-n.com.au//produc/praying-mantis-square-card

11.01.2022 I did the thing! studio Nikulinsky jewellery has been a project of mine since late last year and I decided today I would share what Ive created with Philippas amazing artwork. They are made from salvaged Yarri wood, a eucalyptus native to WA, and the printing is done with non toxic inks. Ive been wearing the samples and have been really pleased with their durability (I wouldnt get t...hem wet though!) 11.01.2022 I meant to post on Monday and now it is Thursday! What a week. What have you been up to? I have prepared and packed orders, wrapped some Card Kindness parcels (see previous post) for people in Victoria. I bought a new colour printer with an Eco Tank instead of cartridges, as I thought for ages how to upgrade my printer without it being too environmentally unfriendly - so this one has ink tanks that you refill with bottles! I also found a car to buy, hopefully, and I really... want our first trip to be up north for wildflower season next month (though as Ive said before, it is always wildflower season in WA). And my youngest babe is going to daycare. Big week!! Also - only a few more weeks to wait until I release the first studio Nikulinsky jewellery! Im terribly excited about that. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST my Geraldton Wax is flowering See more

11.01.2022 This looks like an incredible opportunity!

10.01.2022 My 4yo daughter is super excited about Christmas, Mummy we have so many ornaments to put on the tree I won’t have to make any at daycare she says Thanks to all who have ordered Christmas decorations in the last few days, it’s been quite fun wrapping them up and popping them in the post (don’t tell my girl they’re not all destined for our tree!) The WA Christmas Tree star decorations have sold out but I do have a number of these lovely birds as well as the a banksia, a... eucalyptus and Sturt desert pea! Visit the shop www.studio-n.com.au And I always appreciate you sharing or tagging your Australian flora & fauna loving friends in my posts, too See more

10.01.2022 Im sorry! Ive been working hard to get all the little details smoothed out for my jewellery release but its just not going to be ready for Thursday like I planned & promised. Ive had so many curveballs thrown at me this month, including the unsettling news our house will be sold. But Im moving on (haha get it?) & turning the recent challenges into positives. Like moving to a different suburb, being gentler on myself and slowing down my processes. I guess if anything 2...020 has taught us is that our plans can be radically changed beyond our control. That said, Ill let you know as soon as these beautiful Numbat stud earrings are ready! They always remind me of @gumdots and the Numbats she takes care of at @perthzoo which Im looking forward to visiting soon (maybe it will be my jewellery launch gift to myself!)

09.01.2022 Rode my trike (admittedly I pushed it up some of the hills) to Kings Park and Botanic Garden the other day and was rewarded by this beauty Eucalyptus youngiana is an arid/ semi-arid tree native to SA & WA with huge, dazzling flowers. The greeting card featuring Philippa Nikulinsky, Artist painting of Eucalyptus youngiana is the most popular card I stock (currently sold out sorry). True story! www.studio-n.com.au ... Image: a close up photograph of a big eucalyptus flower, pinky-red bloom, gnarly green stem and nut. See more

09.01.2022 I asked my three-nager what this photo was all about and she said, its a galah, a white galah so there you go. (Its actually a pair of eco-friendly Corella stud earrings & Splendid everlastings 100% recycled greeting card both painted by @philippa.nikulinsky ) Have you ever seen a white galah?

After 24hrs Ill pick a bunch of folk to receive a small parcel of goodies
