20.01.2022 Good design extends beyond aesthetics!! We were recently called in to provide assistance in the final stages of construction of this project, as the designing architect was no longer involved. This is a non-compliant box gutter. It was drawn by the architect as non-compliant, the architects drawings were picked up by the engineer who detailed the structural steel around the non-compliant gutter, the steel fabricator used the engineers drawings.... and you can see where this ends up - a big & costly mess for the client & builder who need to fix the problem in order to get certification on the project. Lesson: Make sure your designer understands ALL aspects of building design - Getting the wrong designer, will undoubtedly cost you much more in the long run!

18.01.2022 Had a great night last night testing out virtual reality inside a building model at CCVR.... the sense of space you get is amazing, and this is really a great tool for showcasing our designs to our clients. Steeply sloping up from the street, we needed to consider occupant access, and lightweight construction techniques to provide a 4 bedroom home at the top of the site where it could take full advantage of the panoramic ocean views over Terrigal, with lift access from the garage.
