Learning a graphics program won’t make you a good designer.... People focus on the mechanics because it is easy, but mastery of a tool doesn’t equal mastery of the craft. Anyone can be taught how to use a tool. What you can’t teach is cut-through creative, innovative thought and original ideas. Gary Vaynerchuk says it best.. 'Creative is the only variable in the 2020 world'. Bland creative will disappear into the abyss of generic cyber clutter, while great creative will have real impact and always cut-through. Sure you 'can' offload human connection in its entirety to automated tools. Yes you ‘can’ eliminate all personal access in favour of diverting clients to into a system... BUT THAT DOESN’T MEAN YOU SHOULD!!! Automation is a useful tool in business but ONLY to the extent that it benefits the client! As a business owner it is my job to look after clients, NOT redirect them to an online portal in a lame attempt to avoid doing the work of client service! People are NOT stupid. They know when they are being reduced to a transaction and THEY DON'T LIKE IT. No one wants to trade human connection for a circle-jerk of chatbots, FAQ’s and support tickets.
