24.01.2022 Persian architecture has long been known as the embodiment of mathematical and geometrical premises. From remote history to recent times, edifices were designed based on rules of mathematics and geometry. Al-kashi was a Persian geometer implementing in his works arch types used in Persian architecture. The team took into account the geometrical proposition of Al-kashi when semi archers were implemented into its entrance porch. Symmetry also plays an important role in Persian... architecture. In Herman Weyl’s book symmetry, he has observed the use of symmetry in most if not all the iconic buildings in Iran. More so, the application of repeating units and symphonic design is seen in the stucco patterns during the time of the Sassanids. This gave the team an idea of remaining true to Persian design by applying repeating units and symphonic design on the cornices of the residence and giving a certain degree of symmetry into its façade, despite having an unsymmetrical existing plan. 23.01.2022 Hossein Habibi Shisha Cafe, opening soon. Architects Arash Sohrabi, Don Paolo Calleja, and Rolando Dela Paz wanted a space that encapsulates youth and playfulness while still staying true to Persian ornamentation and Architecture. The walls are clad in a way that replicates the Persian Carpet as carpet weaving is an essential part of Persian Culture and Iranian Art. The opposite interior wall reflects the Persian Carpet Tile Cladding and elongates the space to make it look mu...ch wider. 23.01.2022 Finally, Hosseins Makati Avenue branch is now open. The concept of the whole design as proposed by Architects Arash Sohrabi, Don Calleja, And Rolando Dela Paz is to stay true to Persian architecture. A sense of equality is supposed to be evident in the whole interiors. Floors should be as intricately ornamented as the walls and the walls should be as intricately ornamented as the ceiling. Nothing is above the other. This would be evident in the past architecture of Persia, where edifices such as the Eram Garden or the Nasir al-Mulk Mosque both found in Shiraz were intricately decorated from the floors to the walls, and all throughout the ceiling. A modern take on Persian Interiors for the best Persian Restaurant in the Philippines, Hosseins.
23.01.2022 The Eugenia building's external skeleton is almost complete. Unto interior fitouts of the Eugenia Ballroom. Excited. #eugeniabuilding #evelynscatering #ballroom #studioarcherandroland #bcrad #eventsplace
23.01.2022 Designers have the tendency to overburden the facades with windows resulting in high thermal loads and acoustically poor interiors. The designing team place a floor to ceiling high window on the staircase, as this space will constantly be used due to having an office in the upper floors. Placing a window to illuminate the staircase removes the need for artificial lighting intervention all throughout the day. The ballroom is incased in double walls with proper insulation and a... 10 mm airgap to avoid surface condensation that results in molds (Wati, Meukam, & Damfeu, 2017). The East facing exterior where the main entrance hall of the whole edifice is, is cladded in a high albedo material reflecting direct sunlight minimizing thermal load (Huwald et al., 2009). Additionally, the team provided an air cavity in between the exterior CHB wall and cladding in order to minimize thermal heat transfer between two materials and providing a void that traps air which then absorbs solar thermal energy. The hot air is then vented out of the cladding cavity , thus mitigating solar heat gain of the building interior, and reducing its cooling load (Yu, 2013). Unto the design of the interiors. The team opted to have coffered ceilings as this would be reminding us of the renaissance period and Old English affluent elegance. Coffered ceiling also offers a sense of prestige and grace to the whole space. Additionally, it adds geometry and depth extracting the dull rectilinear interior and making it a little bit extravagant. #studioarcherandroland #bcrad #revit #renaissance #sustainabledesign #usyd #artandscience #evelynscatering References: - Huwald, H., Higgins, C. 19.01.2022 Finally, Mystery Manila in Eastwood is now open. Architect Don Paolo Calleja intended a biophilic approach to the whole design, wanting a certain degree of curvature to the benches, ceiling, and walls to mimic organic shapes found in nature. A space with good Biomorphic Forms and Patterns feels interesting and comfortable, possible captivating, contemplative or even absorptive (Söderlund & Newman, 2017). This biophilic design approach suggested by E.O. Wilson was the cornerst...one of the studio's lobby design. Visit Mystery Manila in East wood to tickle your ingenuity as you try to escape the inescapable. P.S. 14.01.2022 Our client is having a hard time choosing among the three (3) facade studies for a three-storey commercial/residential we presented him. As per client brief, there should be two floors entirely dedicated to commercial spaces, a floor being their residence, and the top being a roof deck. With each following the same floor-plan, designers devised three distinct facade studies; first has a Mid-Century Modern facade, second has a Classical facade, and the third has a Contemporar...y facade. Why don't you help him and tell us what you think: for the MID CENTURY-MODERN facade for the CONTEMPORARY facade for the CLASSICAL facade

12.01.2022 Here is our design proposal for a commercial center in Marikina. Staying true to our brand, we kept the aesthetic of the building at par with its functionality. We employed perforated aluminum panels for our facade to act as screen and visual barrier. To define the building's look, aiming to project a dynamic and moving look, we opted for diagonal lines. True to our design principle of making our works climate-sensitive, we used cross ventilation on the hallways with overhang...s to protect the stores from direct sunlight. 07.01.2022 We are glad to feature our approved proposal for a residential property in Cainta, Rizal! Here, we created a design that marries Mid-century modern and Tropical Architecture. We introduced the utility of Venturi Effect which ensures self-ventilation of high volume spaces. In attaining this, we have reintroduced the use of jalousie windows and pitched roof ceiling. This design is not just aesthetically pleasing but also functional for our tropical climate!... Do you want your home or office to be designed by our team? 06.01.2022 Take a look at our proposal for an apartment complex within the Central Business District of Makati! Traffic in our city roads is unbearable, adding unnecessary stress in our everyday lives. More so, the time we spend in our city’s main arteries, particularly EDSA or C5 going to work, amounts to about 16 full days in a year. This could have been used for other more productive or essential things; like a 16-day vacation in the beautiful beaches of Palawan, or an educational ma...rathon where you learn a new craft that you were always fascinated about, or more so, it could have been used to catch up on your sleep. Whatever you wish to accomplish, traveling every day to work and wasting those precious moments in traffic is just not worth it. G-Nest is centrally located in Makati, and is within walking distance from all forms of public transportation; from the ferries to the future subway system, all of which are just minutes away from the complex. Our clients are very much excited to see these designs come into life! Do you want your home, a building or an office to be designed by our team? You may contact us through our Project Manager, EJ dela Cruz at 0917 132 6803 or [email protected]. Hope to hear from you! #DesignThatWorks #StudioArcherandRoland
