25.01.2022 Three big Queensland Maple slabs were used to make this monster of a table. This 20 seater table was made for some keen entertainers. It features breadboard ends, jet black epoxy with butterflies on cracks. Three sets of slightly angled legs. Concealed wheel on one end to allow for easy movement. This was a lovely build. ... Let us know if you need a table like this The slabs were sourced by Topaz Sustainable Timbers #woodworking #tables #bigtables #maple #madeintownsville #furniture @ Townsville, Queensland

25.01.2022 As a furniture maker it’s not too often that I’ve been asked to make a wooden anvil. Keith Dawson from @dawsonsengineering commissioned us to build these beauties. The design is based on an existing smaller anvil that Keith owns and we’ve scaled it up to what you see here. ... We’ve used locally grown timbers with blocks of Raintree for the anvils, inland rosewood for the hammer heads and bolts, and old barrier piles from Townsville port which we believe are over 100 years of age. The finish is pure tung oil. Thanks Keith for trusting us with the project

24.01.2022 Here are some panels that we completed a few weeks ago for a local church. They are acoustic panels to help stop sound bouncing around off walls. I think the final count was 73 panels, and approximately 420 linear metres of brown quandong was used. They are finished with Osmo Polyx and hung with french cleats. #woodworking #osmo #acousticpanels #amazingtimber

19.01.2022 Adrian has just completed this 5 string Bass at our Australian Guitar Making school here in Townsville. This guitar, Adrian’s first, was a present for his son. It features a carve top and accents in Jarrah burl. The burl was part of a suite of 10mm thick one piece blanks I purchased from @djarilmari some years ago. The Qld Maple body blank and neck keeps the guitar nice and lightweight. Custom pickups by Mick Brierley at brierleyguitarpickups and hardware by @hipshotproduc...ts We gave it a test drive last week and it sounded amazing straight off the bat. Hopefully we can follow up with a good sound recording soon. Well done Adrian, outstanding effort that!! #australianguitarmakingschool #guitarmaking #guitarmaker #guitarmakers #australiantonewoods #madeintownsville See more

18.01.2022 A pair of Blackwood beauties designed and made by the very talented Paul. These are only the 2nd and 3rd guitars that Paul has made so as you can see for yourself he is quite a talent. Somehow I think this will not be the last project Paul is going to push the limits on. Makes us both scratch our heads at times but that’s what makes it soo goood!... #guitarmaker #australianguitarmakingschool #guitarmakingschool #guitars #woodworking #blackwood #madeintownsville #loveachallange

08.01.2022 Making bases for live edge tops can be a challenge. This base was made to suit an irregular shaped mango slab. The 3 way crossover is to prevent table wobble - it’s a tricky little leg-to-rail joint with a mortise and tenon at 12/10 degree compound angle. @livosaustralia countertop oil on mango is the business. ... The top is in brisbane so hopefully we’ll get a photo from the customer once they’re united. #funprojects #livos #livosaustralia #mangowood #mortiseandtenon #lovemyjob #madeintownsville #studiodubbeld #heirloomfurniture
