24.01.2022 Had to Share this little miniature carpenters ruler. So preciously sweet.
22.01.2022 Eco washable paper is another medium that has so much to offer. The texture, the way it creases and the fact that you can wash it is just extraordinary. This one is adorned with my take o the Union Jack. Two layers of washable paper and then topped with the softest black garment leather.
21.01.2022 Its still one of my faves.....
20.01.2022 So stunningly beautiful. #imagelove
20.01.2022 The beauty of the lotus pod. Amazing.
20.01.2022 I love perfect imperfection. Everyday I look around and marvel at the beauty that surrounds us and take inspiration from that. Whilst always evolving, over time it has developed into quite a distinctive aesthetic. My love of leather comes from this same place. Each hide with all its markings and flaws is what allows me to tell a story with each and every unique piece I create.
18.01.2022 Straight up to start an amazing day of creativity.
18.01.2022 When your favourite clutch has the option of a wristlet and shoulder strap. #tickingtheboxes
18.01.2022 Thick storm coloured full grain rustic leather. A spine of 12 hammered d-rings separated by imperfect studs. Studio Koak signature features of distinction.
17.01.2022 I could spend hours in the studio just taking images! Here is one of this weeks favourites.

16.01.2022 Full grain leather is full of inconsistencies. Thats how you know its real. Real leather has markings and scars. These are what give a hide its unique beauty. Beware of a grain that looks perfect - it still may be leather, except that the top couple of millimeters have been sanded and buffed to take away imperfections. With the top layer removed, the leather will have a more uniform finish, but wont be as durable and age as well as a good leather should.
15.01.2022 The ancient art of tanning and dying leather... one of my favourite images.
15.01.2022 I love the contrast of this cross on warm grey washable paper. Make a statement - www.studiokoak.com.au

13.01.2022 Been working at the anvil today perfecting the hammered texture of some d-rings for some new creations. Are you feeling the love?
12.01.2022 This statement necklace is handcrafted with a 4mm square hand cut black vegetable tanned leather strip. This piece is adorned with black hand cut round discs of eco friendly washable paper. Each disc has been creased to allow them to sit at all angles to add depth and a more dramatic effect to the soft curving lines.

01.01.2022 When Im not in the studio I am looking at wearable art from around the globe. Its so inspiring and has me excited to come up with new creations. This! See for yourself the work of @leebrennandesign
01.01.2022 I love how objects we collect over time can transport us back to particular times in our lives. The button grass was collected from far south west Tasmania from the button grass plains. My boys gifted me the claws. As a child I would wear them on my fingertips! These are the types of things I surround myself with. Pieces of nature that evoke memories and beautiful emotional responses when I see them each day in the studio.
