24.01.2022 My hairdressing journey is pretty special to me. I have so many long term clients that have become my friends. I first met Jodie 22 years ago when she was 10 years old! Her mum Pam came in to get her hair done after having a bad experience at another salon. I fixed her colour and haircut and I have been her hairdresser ever since! I have watched her 3 beautiful children (Jodie being the youngest) grow up. When her son Chris started at a private school I had to cut his hai...r short... Pam recently shared these pictures of me cutting his hair, I was 21! And Jodie's formal photos where I styled her hair in 2006! Pam, Jodie and I and I have shared many stories together. They have seen my own 3 children grow up and now Jodie is a mummy herself! Meet Avery, so tiny and precious! I am so grateful for the friendships that have formed as a result of my career. What special memories!

14.01.2022 When Neve asked us to do this ponytail donation transformation we were honestly so excited! We love doing ponytail donations because we get to be a part of helping others! So what happens to the ponytails? Where do the ponytails go? Here is a little info about what happens after we cut them off in the salon! ... 1. The Sustainable Salons Depot When ponytails arrive at the Sustainable Salons depot, the team sorts and grades EVERY PONYTAIL BY HAND according to length, colour and hair type. The ponytails need to be sorted into various categories because each recipient they distribute to has different requirements depending on how they process them for wig-making. Sustainable Salons does not receive any funds for the collection or sorting of ponytails. They do all of this FREE OF CHARGE, so that those in need receive the maximum benefit. 2. Charitable Organisations Sustainable Salons send ponytails to charitable organisations such as Variety the Children’s Charity and the Australia Alopecia Areata Foundation (AAAF) to be made into charitable wigs or to fund life-changing programs. As high-grade ponytails are super valuable, these organisations sell them to wig-makers and use the return to help fund life-changing programs (including providing wigs to kids!) across their amazing platforms. 3. Independent Wig-Makers Sustainable Salons also send ponytails to local, independent wig-makers to be made into charitable wigs. These wig-makers work directly with clients they find through connections with hospitals, and local community and support groups. These clients are mostly adults, so the wig-makers can work with shorter and coloured hair because adult hairstyles rarely require the long, virgin-condition ponytails that children’s wigs do. 4. For your peace of mind Sustainable Salons only sends ponytail donations to verified charities and independent wig-makers working on charitable wigs only (not-for-profit). Although the independent wig-maker may need to charge for their labour (this remains between the wig-maker and the client), they provide the hair from Sustainable Salons free of charge to the recipient.

Studio Lane Christmas Party 2020 Thank you to my amazing salon team! 2020 Has been a year of uncertainty and lots of restrictions. You guys have taken it in your stride and I'm proud to have you as part of our salon family! Thank you all your hard work in the salon and for a fun night last night!
09.01.2022 Thank you to everyone for coming last night to support our nomination as Best Salon Newcomer of the Year 2020! Although we didn’t win I’m super proud we made it as far as a finalist! We had such a great night and are so proud of our achievements so far! ... Thank you to the Studio Lane team, Rozzy, Hannah and Bayley, and our salon assistants Mia and Jai. You all work so hard to produce beautiful hair and make Studio Lane such an awesome place! Special thanks to Rachel for the guidance you have given me as both a business mentor and a sister. Thank you to Paul and Kiara for your encouragement and support at home and with the salon. 05.01.2022 Is hairdressing a science or art?? We work as a team in the salon and we often go to each other for a second opinion on colours, techniques and toners. It had us chatting in the salon the other day about hairdressing and whether it is a science or an art. I really feel like it is a bit of both. There is definitely a scientific aspect to it but there is also a very artistic side. I actually think it would be possible for ten hairdressers to look at one picture, and all ten could come up with different techniques and formulas to achieve that one result... that's where the artistic side comes in. It is fun to be able to be creative about how we achieve the end result! It really is like creating a masterpiece! #salonteam #boss #stylists #salon #paradisepoint
