The five most common Skin Types are - normal, dry, oily, combination and sensitive. Skin Type is determined at birth and can be hereditary. We define Skin Type by the way the skin on your face looks, feels and responds. ... Normal Skin has no noticeable skin concerns, a healthy glow, smooth texture and refined pores. Dry Skin can feel itchy, has visible lines and wrinkles, the complexion looks dull, less oil is naturally produced, looks tight and the skin overall presents as being dry. Oily Skin has less visible lines and wrinkles, has a tendency to be prone to acne, has blackheads and enlarged pores, oil is visible and evident, with skin having a shiny feel and texture. Combination Skin has both oily patches as well as dry areas, usually an oily T-zone section and the cheek area surfaces are normal to dry. Sensitive Skin is genetically predisposed, displays redness/inflammation, skin can be flaking or itching and could have a burning sensation.
