20.01.2022 It’s an odd predicament to face the sort of uncertainty that has been forced upon us at the moment. I’m grateful study has given my some distraction to focus my energies. There’s far too much time to think about the world for good or I’ll. I’ve taken to documenting snippets of thoughts and ideas. A video work exploring vastly different disciplines of human movement may be in the works. It’s a time to refine thinking outside the box. 16.01.2022 This lockdown is getting a little tough. But looking forward to days ahead and getting back into the studio in the not-too-distant future. I’m going to have to get back into the rhythm of creating again. Happy to discuss ideas with any potential volunteers. Let’s hope things improve soon. 06.01.2022 I’ve had a lot of time to think during this extreme lockdown period. Amidst experimenting with other disciplines, I’ve had a chance to plot a trajectory of what motivates me and what I’d like to do over the next few years. What prompted my early career in photography and journalism was to do something that had some sort of positive impact in the world and in considering the art world and creating art in general I’m a little torn. Art is important. I think artists are best eq...uipped to critically examine the world and pose the hard questions. To experiment with ideas and explore new way of thinking. But there’s something inherently elitist in the gallery system and something that doesn’t quite gel with how I view the world. I’ve had a few emailed correspondences with some NGOs lately discussing the possibility of working on some projects focused more on the idea of social consciousness in some of the most impoverished and tragedy-stricken parts of the world. There’s definitely a draw to this for me. To give a voice where it’s needed. I’ll have to consider my options over the next year or so very carefully.
