Today is the 11th anniversary of the day my husband succumbed to the thoughts he was having and added his name to the statistics. 11 years on I know I will never stop wondering if I could have done more to support him and prevent this family tragedy. All I can do is keep reminding everyone that nurturing your mental health must always be your top priority! Please hug your loved ones a little harder for me today! #preventativehealth #selfcare

11.01.2022 Is the magic in the frame or the artwork? My advice is -Dont judge youre work too soon. Think about your art in layers. After the first step, take time to think about what to do next. Add layers with new ideas or new media... layer of thoughts!! Only then does the magic starts to happen.... and if it doesnt thats ok too! Art is about problem solving and being prepared to risks. 07.01.2022 I am an Art teacher who became an Art Therapist after experiencing a life-changing event. The grief and trauma of losing my husband to suicide made me truly understand the value of using art for therapy. Before that day, Art was just the subject I taught in schools (and a fun hobby). After that day, Art became so much more! Art helped me get through some very hard days/years. I started my Art Therapy business so I could reach out and help other adults learn how to use Art fo...r its therapeutic benefits... Nowadays, Im not teaching Art so that students can achieve good grades on a Report Card. Instead, Im teaching Art so that ordinary people, from all walks of life, can benefit from all the other reasons. Art is a hobby that will help you to focus and be mindful, express thoughts and ideas, find positivity and hope, be a more creative problem-solver, and enjoy the life you have.
