Unfortunately, this statement is no exaggeration. In todays world, cybercriminals regularly take advantage of small businesses that appear vulnerable. Why do they choose small businesses? Theyre the ideal target of hackers, scammers and cybercriminals because they dont place IT security as a ma...jor importance. Hackers are extremely proficient at breaking into your network. Their aim is to steal your data or offer you a ransom to retrieve your data.They use a variety of software and skill to hack directly into your private data. Ive identified three different ways cybercriminals do this: 1. THEY TRICK YOUR EMPLOYEES. 2 THEY ATTACK YOUR NETWORK DIRECTLY. 3 THEY OFFER RANSOM TO RETRIEVE YOUR DATA. This wouldnt be a concern if you invested in protecting your IT securely. For example, if your data was securely backed up to the cloud, a hacker can try to hold your data hostage, but it wouldnt be a concern as they officially dont have hold of your data.You would refuse to pay any ransom and allow your IT specialist to restore your network while running a virus program. The end result would be a days downtime versus paying a cybercriminal thousands of dollars in ransom fees with no guarantee in even getting your sensitive data returned. Unfortunately, we see threat attempts like this almost every day. If I could offer any advice, would be to INVEST in IT security.
