Following the collective petitioning of our fellow schools, families and associations we are so glad that the announcement was made earlier this week to allow our girls to go home for the holidays and to return next Term! The QLD Chief Health Officer exemption detailed the following: "for primary and secondary boarding school students with a primary place of residence in either the Australian Capital and Territory (A...CT) or a New South Wales (NSW) Local Government Area (LGA) with no active cases of COVID-19, as an exempt class of persons under Border restrictions Directions (No. 13) or its successors or until revoked or amended, for persons described in points 1 to 3 below. Parent or guardian from a COVID-19 hotspot 1. A parent or guardian who: a. is entering Queensland from either the ACT or a NSW LGA with no active cases of COVID-19 to collect a student enrolled in a Queensland boarding school, years Prep to 12; and b. is entering Queensland to collect the student from a Queensland boarding school by road to take them back to their place of residence at the ACT or NSW LGA; and c. the road transit will occur by the most direct route practicable from entry into Queensland to the Queensland boarding school, with the return travel from Queensland occurring on the same calendar day; and d. the road transit back to the ACT or NSW LGA will occur by the most direct route practicable. 2. A parent or guardian who: a. is entering Queensland from either the ACT or a NSW LGA with no active cases of COVID-19 to convey a student enrolled in a Queensland boarding school, years Prep to 12; and b. is entering Queensland to convey the student to a Queensland boarding school by road from the ACT or NSW LGA; and c. the road transit will occur by the most direct route practicable from entry into Queensland to the Queensland boarding school, with the return travel from Queensland occurring on the same calendar day."
