25.01.2022 FAST4 Tennis The weather is looking good to play FAST4 tennis on Wednesday 11th of November from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm. If the weather forecast does change we will send an update around 3 pm on the day. We'll be playing mostly doubles but some singles will be played depending on the numbers. Free for any member and cost $10 for non-members which includes a complimentary drink from the bar. So please encourage anybody you know to come out and have some fun!... Open to both Men and Women. Sets go by fast and typically can get 3 to 4 sets in within an hour. Its a great mix of social and competition players. No weekly commitment.

24.01.2022 The SA Government have announced a 6 day circuit breaker. Therefore the club will be closed over this period from mid night tonight (12:01am 19/11/2020). Also FAST4 tennis is cancelled tonight. We wish you all the best and stay safe over this extraordinary period. There will be an announcement about when it's safe to return to playing at the club.

23.01.2022 Today was the first match that women could play in the MLTA men's competition. Natalia played a great first match at No. 2 unfortunately going down in two close sets. In the end the team went down 4-2 but has great aspirations for the rest of the season. 16.01.2022 We are very excited to announce our Sturt Lawn Tennis club tournament is back this year on Monday 9th March (Adelaide Cup Public Holiday) for current members with no gender restrictions (both men and women can compete for the title). Cost is $10 entry (inc lunch) with a main draw and plate draw for singles and doubles. ... There will be prizes for winners and runners up of the main and plate draw, as well as door prizes and raffle. The entry cost will cover lunch, any spectators can pay $5 for lunch. 10.01.2022 UPDATE: Due to the impact of Coronavirus we have postpone the free coaching session to after the crisis has passed. We keep you updated as further information comes available. FREE CLUB COACHING TO NEW PLAYERS! PLEASE HELP IN RECRUITING FAMILY MEMBERS, FRIENDS, NEIGHBOURS, WORKMATES ETC. ... CLASSES STARTING SUNDAY 22 MARCH (11 am - 12 pm) OR TUESDAY 24 MARCH 5 pm - 6:30 pm As part of using our Unley Council grant for coaching, the club is offering four free sessions to people who are new to tennis or have very little experience. Please reach out immediately to anyone in your family or wider networks and do some recruiting. All they have to do is turn up to either of the first sessions on Sunday or Tuesday but feel free to reply by email if you know of anybody that wants to turn up. This is an excellent opportunity to grow the sport, do good for the community, and potentially expand our membership. Beyond the four free sessions, participants will be able to have more coaching at a very nominal amount of $10. We welcome any new interested players from age 14 and above to come out. Anyone below 18 must have a guardian present throughout the sessions. Please dont think this is a good idea and then shelve it and forget about it. Get on to it ASAP. 08.01.2022 Club Closed due to the impact of Coronavirus Dear Sturt Lawn Tennis Club members, With a heavy heart the committee are announcing that we are closing the club effective immediately (March 25th 2020). This decision was made following the announcement made by the PM Scott Morison made last night instructing that all social sporting activities cease. This also aligns with instructions issued on the SA Police website. Well keep you updated on any new developments but as were cl...ose to the end of our season theres a high chance well not be open again until the 2020/21 Summer season. These are extraordinary times and with the information changing daily we are prioritising the health of our members. While its sad that our wonderful season has been cut short the committee believe well be able to bounce back stronger and continue having more great seasons that the Sturt Lawn Tennis Club has demonstrated in its history. Thank you to all of you for supporting the Club this summer. We have had a great 2019/20 season, and we will continue to play wonderful games of tennis in the future. 07.01.2022 Dear Sturt Lawn Tennis Club members, We are holding a free BBQ lunch on Sunday 23rd August to commiserate the club closing early due to the COVID-19 lock down and celebrate the opportunity that we may have a summer 2020/2021 season of tennis. While we are feeding you well also have our Annual General Meeting. Event: BBQ lunch at Sturt Lawn Tennis Club. Hot food and drinks from the club fridge provided for free.... Please bring a salad or finger food to share. Time: Lunch from 12 pm on Sunday 23rd August AGM starting at 1 pm Please reply by email to [email protected] if you can make it so we can know numbers to cater for. Bring anybody else along that might have any interest in joining the club! We are aware that the threat of COVID-19 is still around. There will be hand sanitiser around and well ask members to observe social distancing. We have registered our COVID-safe plan and will adhere to the protocol of up to 25 people in the clubroom each person social distancing by 1.5 metres. If the weather is nice well have both the club house and court area for people to about to spread out. If we have a lot of people and weather is bad or Adelaide gets a spike of COVID cases we will move the AGM on to an online platform.
