25.01.2022 Massive 3 points! Sturt Lions 3 - 1 Woodside Warriors After peppering the goal for 40 mins, and Gus Baker smashing the cross bar from 30 yard free kick, Sturt finally broke the deadlock with Captain Ollie Taylor's 7th Goal of season, unfortunately in doing so has pulled a hamstring and is likely to be sidelined for a 3-5 weeks.... Mid way through the second half Gus Baker made it 2-0 from the spot with calmly placed Penalty for his first goal of the season. 15 mins from the end and Woodside made it 2-1 with a lucky strike which made its way in to the bottom corner. Some key tactical decisions by Team Coach Tom Vander Veeken helped see out the game with a third goal by under 20s striker Kassan. Final Score 3-1 #DerbyDayWinners #SturtLions

16.01.2022 In a one of most heated games of the season so far, Sturt Lion A Team lost 1-0 to Uni Black. With 16 shots, and 5 on target the Sturt forwards are still wondering how the ball didn't end up in the back of the net! This week Sturt entertain Blackwood. Captain Ollie Taylor is leading the front for the first time season, hoping to open his goal account. We spoke with the captain Wednesday night to find his thoughts for the game ahead - "The lads are in good spirit, we should've... come away with a win in the last game. On paper we had a good team, but unfortunately we were playing on grass. We should've scored and put the game away but that's football - hopefully we can turn a corner for the season and get the right result on Saturday."
