24.01.2022 JUNIORS | one of the most anticipated events on our U10 calendar is their annual Sunday Funday where all players are divided up into teams and compete in a variety of different basketball related events. Nine teams competed in the 2020 Sunday Funday with team Red coming in first by 3 points over team Blue who took second by just 1 point over team White. Best dressed went to team Red... Best team spirit went to team Blue Honourable costume mention went to Cooper in team White Well done to all players, it was a fantastic and fun morning

23.01.2022 The U14.4 boys had a fantastic season being one of the dominate teams throughout and coming away with the Winner season runners up. It was an awesome season and they made the coaches and parents proud.

21.01.2022 CLUB UPDATE The Sturt office will be closed from 4:30pm Friday December 18th until 9:00am Thursday January 7th. If you are a current district player and have not registered into our new database for the 2021 season please make sure you do this by the 23rd December. ... We will also be opening up registrations for our January holiday camps and Term 1 Academy and Athletic Development sessions next week. If you are interested please register as soon as possible as places will be limited. We would like to wish all players, coaches, volunteers and supporters a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you for your support of the club in what has been a challenging year. YOU are the reason we exist and we look forward to building on our success together in 2021.

17.01.2022 2021 DISTRICT PLAYER REGISTRATION | We ask that all members please create an account and register their children into the upcoming 2021 season by Wednesday 23rd December 2020. To do this please follow the link and instructions below: 1. Create your account (https://sturtsabres.teaming.com.au/register)... 2. Add your children by clicking ‘Add Player’. Please ensure all known player details are entered. Click ‘save changes’ then ‘close’. 3. Register your children into the upcoming season by clicking ‘Season Registration’ via the left hand side menu. 4. Select the Player and season ‘2021 Season Registration (current players)’ and click ‘Add’. 5. Repeat this step for each child. Please note the system will automatically pick up the age grade your child will be playing based on their date of birth.

16.01.2022 It is with great sadness that we wish to advise that our under 18 Boys division 3 coach James Smith unfortunately passed away recently. James was a valued member of our Sturt community who always went above and beyond, showing a strong commitment and passion to every team he coached. He will leave a lasting impact on the club and those players who he has crossed paths with. When we return to play all teams will wear black arm bands in memory of James and the contribution he has made not only to Sturt but the basketball community as a whole.

04.01.2022 APPOINTMENT OF LYNNE HOLLAND It is with great excitement that we would like to announce the appointment of Lynne Holland to our Under 18 Girls program. Lynne will assist Katherine McPhail with our Division 1 team next season whilst providing invaluable experience to our club overall. Lynne’s coaching credentials speak for themself and she comes to us as one of the most successful female coaches in South Australian basketball, with over 30 years of coaching experience. Lynne h...as won 2 national junior classics and in 6 years as head coach of the under 16 girls state team she has medalled 4 times with a gold, 2 silver and a bronze. Lynne has also been involved in the high performance program at various levels for over 20 years. She will bring this knowledge and experience to our academy programs and junior development across the club. To say we are thankful that Lynne chose to come to Sturt after being sought after by many clubs in South Australia is an understatement. To be able to have a coach of Lynne’s calibre at the club continues to build on the strength of our girl’s program. Welcome to the family Lynne and we look forward to seeing you around the club when we return in January.
