24.01.2022 Tuesday’s Treasure Where would you love to travel to? Perhaps it’s to this beautiful part of the During covid times we can still dream
24.01.2022 Tuesdays Treasure Queen Victoria wearing her emerald tiara encircled by Roses (for England), Thistles (for Scotland) and Clover (for Ireland). This style of portrait was popular in the 1860s and was typically silk woven, called Stevengraphs. Could this be a stevengraph, an antique? We are not certain. Nevertheless, this is a treasure, beautifully mounted and framed. A wonderful collectors piece for fans of all things Victoriana and the popular tv drama Victoria.

20.01.2022 Fabulous Friday Find Probably from the 1960’s - 70’s , Watneys produced a bitter ale in England, and this is a mini version of their red keg. We would love to know if anyone recalls enjoying a Watneys or two in an English Pub
19.01.2022 We have been contacted by a generous volunteer who is hand sewing face masks and requesting that, in lieu of payment, a donation be made to St Veronicas Welfare Committee & Thrift Shop instead The volunteer is still taking orders for masks, so if you would like one for yourself, your family or friends, please send us a message and we will pass on your details! Some information about the masks:... - Made from 100% cotton, with two layers of fabric and a pocket (where you can insert a filter, handkerchief or surgical mask). - The elastic band goes behind the head, not over the ears, for added comfort. - There is a nose wire to ensure the mask fits to your face shape. These are quality masks, made by someone who is a retired microbiologist and sewer of 30+ years. The volunteer has suggested a donation of $15 or more for each mask, which will make such a difference to those we support through education sponsorships and community projects. And, as with all St Veronicas appeals, we are blessed to be able to send 100% of donated funds to its intended recipients.
