It was special to help this client who wanted to have her home setup with all the colours and textures she loved before she goes completely is blind. 20.01.2022 It has been a very tough time for us in Property Styling with our new stage of lockdown in Melbourne and I have worked 5 day weeks solid during the whole time. So it was bound to happen that I went into a decline this week from overwhelm. I was just heading into burn out... Working on our systems and procedures. Implementing a brand new Proposal software for creatives Doing staff training & DISC profiling to ensure we are on track for when our busy period will hit us at the end of October. We are already fully booked for when we open up on 26th October BUT I was still grinding away with setup and administration. I was doing zoom call after zoom call. With my agents and our clients to ensure we were in touch and nurturing them Watching Webinars from the amazing @businesschicks to keep my mind active and developing business strategies. I continued my session with my amazing NLP professional mentor @kylieannsolutioncreator who has been training my staff and I on DISC profiling, Goals, social media strategy and communication training. To top it off I had my recent mentoring guidance session for my Property Styling business with Kate @lifeandbusinessinflow You see as a red personality and creative - when the going gets tough I simply switch gears, push forward and continue to grind But it has all caught up with me in this new way of living in a Covid-19 shutdown state. So I have agreed to take a week off and just nurture myself and my family Taking time off doesnt come naturally to me because I love my work. But 1 day in and I have already booked 3 walking dates with my dear girlfriends whom I havent seen in so many months And I already feel so relaxed Thank goodness I have amazing staff & a supportive group of professional women who keep my business and myself performing. We are about to go back into lockdown in our area of Bayside, Victoria and this means we have a break of styling for 6 whole weeks. So this gives me more time to finish our new website, add more posts to my socials, and to work on sourcing new furniture and artwork ... Its also that time of the year for a good clean out of old stock. . . So needless to say during the lockdown period just like the last we will still be working on our factory and getting ourselves organised ready for our Spring season when real estate hits back again. Thats just the way I think, plan and hope for our immediate future. It helps me keep putting one foot in front of the other. We have had an amazing month in July so this gives us some faith that things are great once we are able to work for our agents. . . And can I say they are even better in real life This Blackburn hardwood timber has an organic and stunning presence. I confirmed with my client that this was perfect for the powder room and she chose chrome taps with a round white basin. ... What do you prefer, Matte black or Chrome taps? It is a personal choice but when your thinking of resale from your brand new build, do you think Chrome is safer to suit more buyers? Or is Matte black also timeless? 16.01.2022 This is the perfect time for me to read a boost from @lisamessenger This week has been one of a bit of overwhelm for me in my business. It is different from the last 3 months with our restrictions slowly lifting. The curve is flattening and we are very lucky here in Australia. Pubs, cafes and bars are opened. ... And thank the gods our beauticians are back. Not to forget the best news, we can party again up to 20 people!! Road travel is back so our friends are packing their bags and heading out for a weekend getaway this weekend. Oh and Im going to an all ladies and no children Houseparty in real life not on aniPad screen. At Style A Home I have been working the usual 5 days per week over lockdown and we were able to operate. I have been in the rebuild and setup stage of my business and Im not quite finished. We have been working pretty hard behind the scenes during covid lockdown. Ive been working towards brand awareness and by doing so, I feel like I have just started my business from the beginning. I am in the process of creating a new website, updating processes and procedures. Creating my campaigns in our CRM. Enabling staff to work from home by implementing an online program Trello. Briony is doing stocktake and Im also focusing on training for my staff and myself. So, my overwhelm came this week knowing we havent quite finished. Knowing that the enquiries and jobs have started to roll in this week. So now I have a D day arriving and we really need to get going. 13.01.2022 Bring in some sunshine into our lives we need it. Oh dear we are now back into Stage 3 and homeschooling again in Victoria. Im not excited about that But what I am excited about is that we still get to help people who need to sell their homes. For all sorts of reasons but they are so stressed out and trying to navigate this uncertain property market due to Covid-19. We are so lucky we get to do our job and whilst furniture might be so hard to get today, we hire out our ...beautiful pieces for our clients to enjoy. The reason for our services is to remove the older style large furniture and replace it with new designs. We helped a lovely lady on her own today furnish her townhouse with todays style of furniture. It needed to be light and airy with a flow. We kept her dining table and replaced everything else. We brought her to tears. She was so emotional about the rest of it. We also did the bedrooms and study. Being on her own and having to make such huge decisions, we removed the stress by decorating her home and its something she said she just couldnt do ever. Its not her thing. But lucky for her its our thing I hope that my readers here are safe all over the world. I know we are not alone and we are also in a great country. Immediately after lockdown we have been given business grants from the government to stay afloat. But my heart goes out to the cafe, restaurant owners. And the gyms and many other businesses.
