12.01.2022 In 2011, Fashion For Flood Relief happened. I’m proud to say it raised $8000. Fast-forward to 2019-2020 it’s not floods, it’s fires. My goodness, a whole lot has changed since then! Globally, nationally, and personally. I may not be in the same position I was back then, and probably won’t be able to do another event quite like that. BUT...the one thing I can do immediately (and did today) was my very own personal Style Counsel Wardrobe Workout (see pics below). It got me to t...hinking yet again (I do a lot of that in times like this) how much stuff we all accumulate; how much of it any of us really need; and how much $$$ we’ve spent on it! Can it be resold and all funds donated? Can that money then be given directly to those who’ve lost everything in the fires?...I’m sure there are ways Sadly, I know my personal donation of clothes won’t be of any direct or immediate help to any of those impacted by these horrendous fires. And if I could, I’d do another Fashion For Fire Relief benefit. But alas... Today I simply want this humble post to perhaps get us all thinking about how much stuff we accumulate every year. And perhaps there’s a way we could creatively use it to help others? 03.01.2022 Never in my time on this beautiful earth have I ever had to do a complete and total shift in the way I live my life, together with the rest of the world AND all at the very same time as we try to sort out the fact from the fiction; the politics and propaganda from the science; the guilt from the hysteria (oh gosh!!! I don’t think I washed my hands when it brought in that last bag of groceries...or did I? ). The lack of control and the fear of the unknown is something every...one will be struggling with, in their own way. The world - as we thought we knew it 6 weeks ago - is indeed a very different place today. None of us know what to expect tomorrow let alone 6 weeks from now. Let’s all take some very deep breaths. Cut ourselves and our loved ones (especially those in very close proximity) some slack. At the same time, please be aware of the impact of your movements around this beautiful earth right now.
