25.01.2022 When the season changes, I love to mix things up around my home and introduce a few new pieces. It’s exciting to see plenty of new homewares and bedding hitting stores, and in different colours and prints than we’ve seen for a long a time! These are the big trends coming through for Spring/Summer that I spotted on my recent shopping trip at Canberra Outlet ... 1. Textured and raw ceramics: organic and irregular vessels, pots and vases are coming through strongly and available in just about every homewares store (this sweet vessel is one I bought from Adairs) 2. Small floral prints: while oversized florals dominated past seasons, this spring we’re seeing the smaller, country-style floral print reimagined 3. Rattan and cane everything: gaining popularity over the years, the love of rattan and cane furniture, lighting and décor is stronger than ever! 4. Yellow tones: the trending colour this season is ‘sunshine yellow’. Expect to find plenty of choice in bedding, artwork and décor in this happy colour 5. Australian inspired prints: native Australian plants and animals are the final big trend of the season. From wombat planters to gumleaf wall art, and native floral cushions, there’s no shortage of choice in stores! Check out Canberra Outlet's stories where I take you shopping around the centre to point out some of my top picks. What looks are you loving this season? GC x #collab #homewares #interiors

23.01.2022 As much as I’d love Alexander to stay my baby forever, he’s not on board and has made major leaps recently both figuratively and literally and when he started escaping from his cot, I knew I had to move him into a bed before he hurt himself. 16.01.2022 Mmmk guys, you know that fab new Coloursmith app I mentioned the other week by Taubmans Australia, well here is my finished DIY table with my own custom paint colours I'm desperate for a holiday and as we all know, that ain't happening any time soon. So I wanted to bring those holiday feels to my outdoor space. Inspired by the deep ocean tones of The Great Barrier Reef where I often holidayed as a child, I colour matched the teal colour from this outdoor cushion to create m...y own paint colour. To add interest and my love of design and DIY, I created my own tile stencils to paint on the details - also using colours I created using the Coloursmith app. I've always wanted to use a bold patterned tile but haven't had an opportunity, so this table is a fun way of incorporating the idea in our home. I love how the table brings together lots of elements that are so 'us' (my husband owns a tile store after all) - it's perfect for our outdoor area #createyourcolour #ownyourcolour #coloursmith #collab

12.01.2022 "My process usually begins with mocking up my ideas for drawings and illustrations digitally on Photoshop. I bring together different reference imagery to create my concepts and then take to the paper and pencils. I have developed my skills and techniques over the years with graphite. I usually work from the darkest points of an image and move from there," says Emily Wright. Check out our latest artist feature > https://stylecurator.com.au/detailed-graphite-illustration/

09.01.2022 There's an exciting new app that I've been having way too much fun with lately by Taubmans Australia. It's called 'Coloursmith' and essentially has been designed so you can create your own paint colours I'm sure we've all been in the same situation at a paint store standing in front of a million colour chips trying to select a paint colour Well this app gives you two easy ways to create your own paint colour without the overwhelm - either from their digital colour librar...y OR from a match (my fave!). To create a colour match, you just need to download the app and capture the colour. You can also use a Coloursmith Window like I'm doing in this pic to get a closer match. The app will then generate a paint colour to match and give you the option to select from similar shades. So if you've got a favourite vase or love the paint colour on a building you've seen, you can now simply capture it, create it and order your sample pot all through the Coloursmith app I'm excited to share the paint project I'm working on at the moment with my own colour. Stay tuned! #taubmans #createyourcolour #ownyourcolour #coloursmith #collab Coloursmith
