25.01.2022 Our students are looking forward to the Showcase and being able to show their parents and families what they have been working this year. The Showcase will begin a 4.30pm at Vogue Dance Studios - 407 Bell St, Pascoe Vale South - on Sunday June 18. Tickets are $15 per adult and are available at the door (cash please) - children under 16 years old are free.... We'd love for you to stay afterwards and bring a small plate of food to share at the end of the presentations. Our teachers are looking forward to being able to chat with you outside the classroom.

23.01.2022 Important things to remember. Both jazz exams and the Showcase will be held at the Vogue Studio in Coburg on Sunday June 18. Jazz exams for juniors and teens will be held from 10.30am. ... The midyear Showcase will follow at 4.30pm. Ballet assessments for all ballet students will be held at the end of term 3. If you would like to dance a solo in the Showcase and you haven't expressed this to your teacher, please do so as soon as possible. Private lessons can be taken by any of our teachers at the rate of $25 per half hour lesson. We have been asked to participate in a multinational ballet seminar during September in Singapore. Those eligible are the senior ballet class only. This is a four day three night trip. We are waiting on quotes for the airfare and accomodation (which will be shared) and will let you know as soon as those prices are confirmed. Kieran and Meryl will be accompanying our students and is also open to any parents who wish to accompany their child. Please let us know if you are interested in joining us for this fabulous experience!

23.01.2022 Ballet students will need to wear ribbons on their shoes for their exams at the end of term 3. We can help you attach ribbons that can be purchased from dance wear stores if your child's shoes do not currently have ribbons. If you are looking at purchasing new ballet shoes we recommend, that if it is within your budget (and we know how kids grow) that you invest in leather ballet shoes with a FULL sole for support of their growing feet. ... We hope to bring you all of the information that you (and if you are a parent of a child at All Style Dance Academy, your child) will be receiving in class, here on our FB page. We also hope that it will be your go-to source if we are in the studio teaching and you can't get a hold of us and you need information. We will still endeavour to respond as soon as possible if you leave us a... voicemail or send us an email. It's been a great start to the year and as always time if flying by! 19.01.2022 GREAT NEWS!! Due to overwhelming ticket sales there will be a matinee perfotmance at 1:30pm. Rehearsals for theeatre will now be on the 14th of december. Times for rehearsal will be after school hours

19.01.2022 Whilst the physical benefits of movement are obvious the many benefits you don't see or attribute to dancing are often overlooked. Listening to music taps into a part of the brain that is connected with creativity and expression. Music also helps open pathways in the brain that enable learning to be easier. The reasons why this occurs are still in their early stages of study and we are yet to fully understand, but we do know that those who work with children are seeing a noti...ceable improvement in the ability to learn in children who are encouraged to listen to music and express themselves. Music and dance are ways of showing individuality. Teenagers will often listen to music that their parents dislike as a way of showing separation from the family and wanting to rebel. Dancing can harness and direct those feelings and allow a child a safe place to express what they can't necessarily speak about.

15.01.2022 Parents encourage kids to participate in sport for many different reasons. One of the things that we know about dance is that it brings to a child's life self awareness and confidence. To be able to move, learn about spacial awareness and respect of others space is important for children as they are traits that we carry into our adult lives. They are attributes of self awareness. Dancing is not just about what you see on the stage in the mid and end of year concerts. What children (and adults too) learn during practice is just as important. It's all about the journey and not necessarily the destination.

11.01.2022 Over at Coburg there is a Hip Hop class each Tuesday night for more mature people, followed by Barre. You may have seen them performing at the combined concert last December. The class is taken by Cherie and the participants have a lot of fun.... Some people take their dancing incredibly seriously and others participate as a way to have 'me' time. Either way it is a great way to meet new people and for many it is taking themselves out of their comfort zone! For growth we all need a little of stepping outside our comfort zone and taking on new challenges. It is also a nice way for the Mum's in the group to set a great example for their children. Kids love seeing their parents in environments that they wouldn't normally expect them to be! Especially if the said parent falls over! We'd love to be able to offer a more mature age dance class at Keilor next year. If you would like to express your interest, we'd love to hear from you in the comments below.

We are really looking forward to seeing Dance Academy as it was filmed here in Australia and is based on the TV show of the same name that was a hit with a major cult following when it showed on the ABC between 2010 and 2013. ...
