18.01.2022 It’s with much sadness that I have to close Style Duo again due to a relapse of my illness. Thanks to all my beautiful clients who have been so supportive and understanding about the cancellation of appointments over the last month - I promise that I will make it up to you one day Unfortunately this relapse is pretty bad so I’m heading to Queensland tomorrow for a minimum 3 weeks of pretty intensive treatment at a specialised medical facility. The worst part will be being away from my babies and I’m told that the therapy is pretty brutal, so it’s going to be a long road ahead but we are hoping like hell its a step in the right direction! Wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas filled with so much love, happiness and good health and I’m hope more than anything I’ll be back to styling again in the new year!

17.01.2022 Met today’s client in a slip dress and boots (a slip dress to hide the sins of ISO) Thanks for all the lovely messages and enquiries since I’ve reopened. All appointments between now and Christmas are fully booked so I’m currently taking bookings for January onwards and once again, gift vouchers for Christmas are available.
17.01.2022 It is with a great deal of sadness that I'm forced to announce that I will not be able to continue with Style Duo for the foreseeable future. As some of you may know, I have a chronic illness which has progressed over the last year and is having a huge impact on my life. On advice from my specialists, I need to take a break and concentrate on getting better before things go too far. With that said though, I will definitely be honouring all pre-booked styling appointments/pres...entations and gift vouchers until the end of the year, however I will be unable to take on any new appointments for the time being. I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported me and followed my social media pages. It's been a fantastic ride and I'm so grateful to have met so many fabulous women. It's not goodbye as I definitely want to stay in fashion or retail so who knows where I'll pop up next? In true Emma-style, I'm already impatiently thinking about less demanding alternatives for myself for when I'm better but for now, I just need to slow down and get my health back on track. Thanks again everyone, it's been truly amazing, I'll miss you all and I really hope to be back styling again someday in the future. See more
14.01.2022 Almost at the end of a fantastic 12 hour shopping day at Chaddy! Started with a styling shop with the gorgeous Carol, then straight onto finding the perfect shoes for my other client's mother-of-the-bride outfit and now it's me time - I'm going to shop till they kick me out! This is my attempt at a mirror selfie during the half way mark today. My face says it all ".....am I doing this right?"
13.01.2022 It is with so much sadness that I have to announce that I am closing Style Duo permanently. I am a very private person when it comes to my health issues however I am sharing my diagnoses in the hope of spreading awareness of a horrible disease and to explain why I will not be returning - I have been getting lots of people trying to book in and asking if I'm back styling so apologies for not announcing this sooner. 13.01.2022 Hallelujah praise the Lord - the very forgiving high waisted jean is back!!!! In a few weeks I'll be turning 40, I've given birth to two kids, I really like beer and food and I don't exercise as much as I should, so this is great news for me! I've spent the majority of my life avoiding the dreaded "muffin-top" and "plummers-crack" which is inevitable when wearing low-rise and even mid-rise jeans, however this is all avoided when wearing high-rise jeans AND they can even m...ake your legs look longer when worn correctly! High-rise jeans haven't made a comeback in a while so I'm going to enjoy every second of this trend! There are a lot of high-rise styles around and they suit EVERY age so have fun trying them on. Some brands even come in a denim/lycra/elastane mix which makes them super soft and super comfortable! 09.01.2022 Today was the perfect day for a wardrobe audit. My gorgeous client booked me to spring clean her wardrobe and get ready for the upcoming change of season. I spent a few hours culling the items that no longer suited her, putting together outfits with her remaining pieces and completely tidying and decluttering her wardrobe! I made a list of the items she needs to purchase to pull it all together and make her wardrobe a place of happiness and not dread!! 08.01.2022 One of my absolute favourite trends going around at the moment is the slip dress. It’s a simple style that looks incredible dressed up but even better styled casually. It’s one dress for multiple occasions so great value for money! I’ve had a number of women afraid to try a slip dress on as they are worried it won’t suit their body shape, however it is a surprisingly flattering style for lots of different shapes - although, if you’re like me and have had a few kids and in a ...committed and passionate relationship with chocolate then I recommend you wear some control underwear. WARNING: when trying a slip dress, I recommend going for quality brands as the cheaper options just don’t tend to fit as well and as the dress is so simple, you have to get it right. My favourite brands are Silk Laundry, Bec & Bridge and Camilla & Marc, although Seed Heritage has a gorgeous one out at the moment for around $150. Its worth spending a bit extra on this dress as you’ll be getting twice the bang for your buck! STYLE TIP: Style it with some runners and a denim jacket for a day look then simply slip on some heels to transform it into elegant evening wear! Simple, classic, easy and modern! MY STYLE: Today I’m wearing my favourite red and white spot Bec & Bridge slip dress (that’s me on the right!) with my Forever New denim jacket and Seed suede mules (as well as my Intimo control underwear which blows my mind ad it’s way too comfortable for the control it gives!) This dress is currently on sale at David Jones for around $170 and the mules are on Sale at Seed for around $40. Happy weekend everyone! See more
07.01.2022 One of my FAVOURITE shoe trends at the moment is the open toe heeled mule! (they are so hot right now there’s even a mule emoji ) In Victoria we are slowly emerging from lock down so if you want an easy way to glam up an outfit, these mules look great with jeans, shorts, skirts, dresses - almost anything!! Available in different heel heights, colours and strap variations there’s a pair for everyone!! Tip: Heels always make a bare leg look longer and more shapely so slap on some fake tan, moisturiser, a heeled mule and viola! There are so many places to buy these mules including Tony Bianco, Zara, Novo, Myer - just to name a few! Happy shopping lovelies
07.01.2022 After what feels like endless months fighting my illness, I’m beyond thrilled to be returning to styling and reopening Style Duo on a part time basis! Over the last few months, I’ve been fortunate enough to step back into the fashion world, working in Seed and Country Road where I got to style so many beautiful women and update myself on the latest styles, fabrics and trends. Most importantly though, this time has reinforced my passion for styling and confirmed I was read...y and able to reopen the business. I would really like to thank everyone for all of their support and love while I was unwell. I received so many words of encouragement and to those regular clients who kept checking in on me and waiting for my return, I’m officially back so let’s go!!! I know now, more than ever before how vital it is to make yourself happy. We only get one life so live it to the full and be the best version of yourself. 07.01.2022 Phew! I’m recovering from a BIG week which included a styling shop in Geelong, another styling shop in Highpoint, a client consultation in Melbourne City, then a Wardrobe Audit at my clients home back in Geelong, then ended the week with a styling shop for my daughter in Highpoint yesterday!! I’ve gotta say that last client was by far the hardest! Now, we all know that good posture is vital - not only for our physical wellbeing but from a styling point of view - we look thi...nner and clothes look better when we stand up straight. After such a busy week I’ll admit that I get pretty tired and sore and it takes a while for my body to bounce back so my go-to solution is to see my Bowan Therapy guru, Gabrielle Smith at Highton Bowan Therapy. I swear it’s this girl that keeps me going at times. She works her magic on me and my stiffness, aches and pains just dissolve! I’ve even had her work on my kids! I only share tips for things I truely believe in and I believe that Gabrielle is great for bodies that need a bit of help! See more
07.01.2022 Amazing styling shop in Highpoint today with the gorgeous Anna This has been Anna’s 4th styling shop with me so it’s safe to say I think she likes me! Today’s shop was done during school hours and travelling up and back from the Surf Coast, but we nailed it and got everything that Anna needed (plus more) and still had time to sit and have a bevvie Today was my third trip to Melbourne this week but no matter how many times I step into a shopping centre, I still get a buzz Happy Christmas Shopping everyone. I promise, shopping centres are a happy place (well at least for me they are!)
06.01.2022 Today was well spent doing a cleansing Wardrobe Audit for the gorgeous Kate in Geelong. Kate had a mountain of clothes but always found she had nothing to wear (sound familiar?) My job was to sort through her wardrobe and identify what clothes to keep, how to wear them and what to wear them with += Alternatively, we removed the items that are no longer needed and identified which pieces can be sold to make money for more shopping Kate now has a whole new wardrobe filled... with new outfit choices and reorganised in a way that makes deciding what to wear every morning an easier and less overwhelming process. At this stage, Kate only needs to purchase a few clothing items to prop up her outfit choices and bring every together. After showing her where to buy the few pieces she needs, I left an extremely grateful Kate who can’t believe she’s had so many gorgeous outfit choices in her wardrobe this whole time - she just needed to be shown how to do it! 05.01.2022 They're cute and quirky and a new emerging trend - introducing the Pom Pom shoe! Yep, they are starting to hit the stores and will be around for Spring/Summer 2016 and I've gotta say I love them! Anything that adds colour and fun into your wardrobe is fine by me They may take a bit of getting used to but give them a go! If you don't know where to start looking for them then I recommend Wittner shoes - they have a cute range with bright colours and I've always loved their products for quality and value for money.
