25.01.2022 If being a plus size isn’t bad enough in regards to some people judging your levels of energy and intelligence then try shopping! There are stores available now doing good quality and fashionable plus size ranges . But if you’re looking for something in the budget range, I thought I’d share these two finds with you. While doing a pre-shop today for a low budget- plus size client, I discovered Suzanne Grae is now doing it up to size 20 in store. ... They actually do larger online but it’s good to try on at least up to a 20 if that’s your requirement. I tried on some of the items myself to get a gauge on their sizing and found that the jackets are very good for those of us who have a bust line. Very often they make a larger size with size 12 darts and the bust line does not fit well. I have to say I was quite impressed with look I could get on that budget. The other retailer I found who is doing jackets quite well for larger sizes [and their dresses are great : not just tents! ] is autograph. ( Couldn’t resist a beautifully fitting paisley jacket myself. And guess what? They’re on 50% today) I was told it was the shop her Mum shopped in but after I convinced her to try a few things on last season , this season she was happier I include that in our range. Happy hunting in this style bracket.

24.01.2022 Now this is an interesting read. Personally I love people doing whatever they want as long as it’s working for them and not against how they want to be perceived. On a sidenote I simply love matching the tie with the !!... See more

22.01.2022 Pic 1; So after fighting the last 30 years with fine hair I decided to go back to the 80’s perm (looked great when I was 31!) Pic 2: I’ve been a golden blonde for all my life give or take the odd mood swing, and it complements my complexion . Although I like change sometimes it’s a shock!... Pic 3: SO when getting roots done every 5 weeks (religiously) and the perm suddenly took a very ugly slate blue (what the ...) I was horrified Took 3 hair dressers to get that right !! Pic 4; i’m now toward the end of the perm and it’s very dry and not doing what I want so I’m looking to either cut it all off super short which is not going to complement my general appearance or a wig! so I started to look at wigs and tried out a couple of different styles and colors. Today I’m on my road to change. Pic 5; Getting older doesn’t mean covering gray with blonde. Sometimes it means actually taking a bit more care and covering gray with your natural color or something a bit warmer to complement your complexion [albeit aging :-)] Whenever you get a great hair blow dry, color or new cut take a selfie and file it away in an album so you can go back and look at your old hairdos when making new moves. You can revisit much easier when you have a reference point ( or look back and think to yourself what the hell was I thinking!) #newhairdo #ageinggracefully #blondehair. #warmhaicolour

20.01.2022 Something borrowed! The perfect example of recycling Add a sleeve and it’s church worthy.... and Grans Waterfall headpiece and it fits the brief beautifully . ... A fabulous choice when your wedding doesn’t go as you pictured in your head all those years

19.01.2022 Not so Killer heels (ouch) when all day commute and work is required to glide into an evening function . Taking a heel change for that swish function at 6:30pm to minimize the killer heel doesn’t mean it has to lack style! #frankie4footwear #takingshapestyle #sophie2 #sophiell #silvershoes

17.01.2022 An emotional, powerful photo of two beautiful women with the same body image issues; they simply handled their emotional baggage differently. If our eyes saw souls instead of bodies, what would we actually define as being beautiful? Would there be as many people craving the unachievable ‘perfect’ look? Remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder... there is no such thing as perfect.... Photograph by Joanna Watala.

14.01.2022 Most of you know I’m a great advocate for Taking Shape [TS 14] for those of us that are between size 12 and 24, that the fashion industry calls plus size. The clothing fits busts and boobs without extra long arms or torsos. Having said that they do have a tall range and a short range ... Today when I went in for my normal browse I found these fabulous metallic handbags. They make their own range of jewelry and other accessories to complement their clothing and it’s well worth a look even if you’re not looking for clothing (Wait until you see their shoes!) https://takingshape.com/AU/shoes/ Taking Shape

13.01.2022 A friend posted this today and it’s too good not to share For the important occasions when you want to be heard take a last look at yourself before heading out the door and remove any potential distractions. Distractions do not always come in the form of phone calls, emails gossip, or social media. Sometimes we create distractions and as a result, can unknowingly suffer the consequences. ... How? By wearing anything that is out there in situations where it’s not appropriate . Items like: Large jewellery or oversized eyewear, Bright colours or prints, Cleavage exposing necklines Extravagant makeup Avant-garde hairstyles Extra-long fingernails or nail art Thigh-high minis Noisy bracelets Stains, tears or gaping tops. Pheromone-based perfumes. At work, social situations or whenever you want to be listened to, it's best to avoid anything that may distract the audience/listener to what you have to say. Distractions initiate questions in the audience/listeners' minds which divert their attention from what you are saying. I always think style your personality by all means, but consider your audience and the perception they may be receiving. Is it appropriate for the situation? #SocialSavvy #StylistTips #personalitystyling #FashionTips #StyleTips Sandra Barnsley Anti-Aging Stylist

11.01.2022 Such a complement when you go back into a store a week later and find they’ve taken your styling tips on board for their Visual merchandising I did have a giggle though listening to the very lady I showed it to explaining how to do it to a customer , what its benefits were and how they thought of it 1. Try the old bottle lid with a lacky band trick underneath your top or dress that’s too long or too boxy. Drawing up the hemline and in this particular case, a tul...e petticoat underneath to give it a bit more glam. 2. A lacky band on the inside works well between the bust and waist line to draw in a top that’s too large for a more flattering look over the tummy

10.01.2022 Those of you working from home using zoom , WebEx or Skype will know you must still look professional, if only from the waist up. The same office hair, makeup/ grooming, colour and appropriate top. ( of course) Now get the angle and lighting right. Trust me it works!

02.01.2022 The spring floral inspired party. Chose the jacket but couldn’t find the jewelry. Hidden treasure found after I flipped through all of my costume jewelry.... I think I found just the right piece: The pink dragonfly Who knew? #fuchsia #pinkdragonfly #dragonfly #pinkandorange Taking Shape Vivid Nights Cardi and LS croix metallic jumpsuit was so comfortable to wear and went from party to Dinner in a blink. i’m not scared of a bold colour but the jumpsuit certainly takes on a more subtle look when wearing a black or plain colored jacket. The multi colored lurex takes any colour worn with it. My party fave at present. #lurex #takingshapestyle #jumpsuit #colour #metaliclurex
