23.01.2022 Whatever you do or sell, it needs to benefit the purchaser (or you wouldn’t succeed in business). Make sure your marketing shows your customers what is possible for them and how you can help them achieve this.

19.01.2022 There’s been some commentary around people on social media being called users as opposed to customers or clients. The comparison between drug users and social media users has been drawn more than a few times. While most people probably aren’t addicted to social media, humans do spend a lot of time on the platforms. This presents a great marketing opportunity but it only works if it seems to belong there. This means making sure your content isn’t jarring or out of place as... it appears in the platform. When people are using Instagram they’re there for the visual aspect of the pictures and videos, so make sure your ads or marketing content are visually appealing. Users of LinkedIn are more in work-mode, so share thoughtful information that will assist them with their professional life. Facebook sits in the middle, but drifts towards the relaxed format of Instagram. Content can be serious and important, but it should appeal to people when they are outside their day to day work life. If your target market is business owners or senior management, it’s okay to have a business flavour to your content as these people rarely totally switch off work-mode. But if you’re pitching something that’s purely of use for businesses during the workday, Facebook might not be the best place. Whether you think of them as users, customers, prospects or your audience, whatever you put out as your marketing should be interesting, educational, entertaining or inspirational. #socialmedia #marketing #smallbusiness #entrepreneur #digitalmarketing #advertising #marketingtips

18.01.2022 Times are tough right now, but don’t make them harder by wasting money advertising an event that’s not going ahead. While you’re at it, check you’re not about to send out tone-deaf marketing into a world that’s looking a little different to when you scheduled it. The simple checklist: Scheduled posts Email nurture tracks... Automated welcome messages (or auto-replies) Ads running for cancelled events Scheduled ad campaigns I’m not saying you can’t market at all, I’m just saying be thoughtful about what you’re saying to a particularly sensitive audience. . . . #contentmarketing #marketing #socialmedia #digitalmarketing #business #blogging #branding #marketingtips #marketingstrategy #b2bmarketing #advertising #design #melbourne #southyarra #images #smallbusiness #entrepreneur

17.01.2022 It’s completely up to you whether you make your marketing about you or your business (or a particular employee). You don’t necessarily have to have a face of the brand for successful marketing. Your business can be the entire brand, and all content and marketing that is released represent the brand. You can embed as much or as little of yourself as you want into the marketing. Just make sure that your brand message stays consistent if different voices are involved. Also be... careful about going the other way, where all of the brand’s goodwill and credibility rests with you alone. This can mean that potential customers only want to deal with you rather than your staff, and puts limitations around you selling your business, if that ever becomes the goal. #socialmedia #marketing #smallbusiness #entrepreneur #digitalmarketing #advertising #marketingtips #brand

16.01.2022 Some aspects of marketing are trial and error; you need to test things to see what’s working. For most small businesses, trying different marketing ideas won’t do any harm, and it may do some good. If your marketing misses the target, you won’t see results, but it is unlikely to drive business away. Of course, you’ll sacrifice some marketing budget and time in your testing, but the benefit of finding something that does work outweighs the cost of the lesson. This is particula...rly true on social media with organic reach. If you’re wondering whether you should post something or not, you probably should. Some of your audience may resonate with it and the others will just ignore it. The exception here is if your content is blatantly offensive or factually incorrect. In this case, it can (and probably will,) harm your business. If you’re questioning this type of content, definitely give it a second run over, but other than these exceptions, post away and test what works. #socialmedia #marketing #smallbusiness #entrepreneur #digitalmarketing #advertising #marketingtips

16.01.2022 For many people, the constant stress we’re living with at the moment is a new feeling. Stress impacts the body in a number of ways, and the never-ending stream of advice we see on what to do to combat this can often only add to the stress. So today, right now, just do something tiny. Reset your posture, consciously release some tension and allow yourself to feel just a little bit better.... Stay safe. Stay strong. KLH xx

15.01.2022 Marketing Tips: It might seem like the world is in chaos at the moment, but that doesn’t mean you can ignore your marketing especially those things that are automatic or already scheduled. 13.01.2022 Your website is a great place to house the important information about you and your business. Depending on your industry, it may be the place for you to list your credentials, special services and general business details. You can also make use of regular blogs to showcase your expertise further. Although blogs can help with SEO, these days it’s quite difficult to organically rank in searches unless you’re in a particularly niche industry. Nevertheless, having a content-rich... website increases the chance your potential customers will find what they’re looking for on your site. Keeping your site relevant and up-to-date helps to show that you’re up with the latest trends in your industry, and builds your authority. A bad website will do a lot of damage. A website does not need to be fancy or expensive, but it needs to function as it should and be mobile responsive. In 2020, most people won’t trust businesses who don’t have a smart online presence. #socialmedia #marketing #smallbusiness #entrepreneur #digitalmarketing #advertising #marketingtips #SEO #website

12.01.2022 Xerox is synonymous with copiers, and it’s what you should stay away from with your marketing. It’s common to talk about modelling your competitors with your marketing, but that tends to drift dangerously close to copying. It may well be that you see what your direct competitors are doing and saying, and you think to yourself, I agree with that, I’ll do that too. This is a bad idea. You should be aiming to present yourself differently to others in your market and highligh...ting your unique selling point. Once you get clear on your voice, your message and your marketing plan it becomes easier to be an individual. You’ll realise that what your competitors are doing doesn’t best represent your plan, so you’ll take a different approach. Take time to find your own style, and avoid copying others. #socialmedia #marketing #smallbusiness #entrepreneur #digitalmarketing #advertising #marketingtips

04.01.2022 Can I be totally honest? Although Style Publishing has been around for years as the publisher of my Kingsley Kids book series, it’s only this year that I quit my job at a marketing agency to expand Style Publishing into my own marketing gig. I’m taking everything I learned from working with big B2B clients and packing it up into something that is affordable for small businesses. Whether it’s written content for your website, branded images for Instagram, or quick, engaging v...ideos for your other social media channels, I can create it. And I’ll let you in on a secret; it’s not nearly as expensive as the big agencies would have you believe. I know what agencies charge. I also know I can produce the same work for a quarter of the price. How? Because I don’t have the overheads they have. I make use of web and tablet apps for design and videos, and I understand that marketing in 2020 combines quality with serious quantity, and I can produce both. My marketing background is in B2B, but by promoting my own children’s books, and working with small businesses in the B2C space, I’ve got an understanding across all marketing. My primary goal now is to work with small and medium businesses to produce actual business results through marketing. Most of all, I love marketing and talking about marketing. So even if we don’t end up working together, I’m more than happy to give you some tips on how to build your business brand. Kirsty - Style Publishing

02.01.2022 Aim to deliver value to your audience through your marketing. To gain and keep attention, content should be either educational, entertaining or inspirational. It needs to serve a purpose to the consumer outside YOUR purpose of promoting your business. Life is full of exchanges. Whether you’re asking people to exchange their email address for an ebook, or their time for you to share your posts, you need to be delivering value. Think about what your customers always ask you, wh...at confuses them about your industry or where your expertise lies. Share content about these things to bring value to your audience. #socialmedia #marketing #smallbusiness #entrepreneur #digitalmarketing #advertising #marketingtips
