25.01.2022 I just goggled the word 'Diet' and got 1,510,000,000 results. Yes that's 1.5 BILLION! No wonder people are confused about what to eat. Anyway, there comes a time when you have to make a decision on who and what to believe. Check out this documentary if you want a push in the right direction. It's screening this Sunday at Regent Cinema. Two hours that could end up adding decades onto your life.

23.01.2022 Less than 20 spots still available!!!! If you're keen to participate in Weekend Event Three on the 2nd of June (9:00am), then put your name on the list at the front counter in the studio. More info to follow ;-)

22.01.2022 Score sheets for tomorrow. ...couple of clues to help you sleep tonight!

22.01.2022 What a ripper of a morning. I had an absolute blast. I hope you guys did too. Thanks for putting in such a big effort in every event. I can't fault the level of enthusiasm, comradery and willingness to have fun whilst training hard. (All the things I wanted to see). Absolutley AWESOME!!!!! Enjoy the video guys. (Because of copyright restrictions I literally had to make my own backing music on a program... lets just say I did my best) PS I promise I'll change a couple of things for next time, most notably I'll introduce disqualifications for dubious technique and an inability to follow instructions... there goes 75% of the field. (Jokes folks)

21.01.2022 I know many of you have been asking what is happening with the gym over the next few weeks/months and I haven’t posted anything until I knew exactly what was going on regarding operating hours/ lockdown etc. Well now I know. The gym has ceased regular business as of 9am today and will be closed until further notice. All information regarding services I am offering from here on in will be sent directly to current clients.... New clients are welcome to contact me on 0418881686 to find out more. Look after yourselves and your loved ones and hopefully we’ll be back on track sooner rather than later.

21.01.2022 August 10... more info to follow.

21.01.2022 Saturday Night Lights is Sold Out!!!! (Well it’s free but you know what I mean.)

19.01.2022 WOW... TALK ABOUT HIGH ENERGY!!! The atmosphere at Saturday Night Lights was absolutely electric. I couldn’t have been prouder of you all if I tried. There were so many incredible displays of athleticism, strength, camaraderie and friendship that it warms my heart everytime I think about it. I thought I would post this short video as it represents not only the event on Saturday night, but also what health and fitness means to me and how much fun it can be when it’s shared with an amazing group of people. Thank you all so much.

19.01.2022 WEEKEND EVENT 4 is on this Sunday the 7th July. (No... we are not climbing Mt Everest!!!) I know it's short notice but there's not much to organise for this one. We're heading up Redlight Hill again to give you an opportunity to test your fitness since the last time we tackled the hill. If you haven't done it before or never recorded a timed ascent then this is your opportunity.... If you're after an even tougher challenge, then pump up the tyres on your pushy and see if you can get to the top without stopping. Time - Be at the main access gate at 10:00am for a quick event brief. The whole event will take less than an hour. Directions - Drive to the northern end of Kemp st. Turn left on Nevada, right onto Shaw and follow it to the gate. All fitness levels welcome, just make sure you bring a watch!!!! See you all there.

18.01.2022 Another Styles Health Weekend Event done and dusted. Thanks to the 39 competitors who pushed themselves to the limit and had fun in the process. The energy, comradery and overall vibe is getting better every time I host one of these activities so rest assured there will be plenty more to come. So don't panic if you missed out this time. Bummed that I didn't get some pics, I actually didn't even give it a thought until it was over, but I'm sure Thomas the videographer will c...ome up with something special. Thanks to all those who received awards, it provided some awesome comedy to finish off the event (You're all great sports) And a special thank you to Marcella for arranging the videographer. Roz and I appreciate it beyond words. The next event will be very soon as there's not much to organise for this one. We're going back up the hill but this time you have the option of walk/running in an attempt to beat your last time or for those of you who want a super tough challenge, bring your mountain bike and see if you can get from the gate to the top without touching the ground... if it's even possible!!! Thanks again, and as always... more details to follow.

18.01.2022 A huge congratulations to Berna Cudars on your success at the World Championships in Thailand. What an absolutely amazing experience it must have been to represent your country and to excel while doing so. So proud of you. I asked Berna to put together a few words to give us an insight into her journey to be a world champion. Who would’ve thought three years ago that I would become a world champion in Dragon Boat racing? New to Wodonga thought I should join some sort of s...porting club to utilise the Jono physique. A work college said give Brave Hearts dragon boat racing a go and so I did. Love every moment of the sport, formed great friendships, travelled, got fitter and for the first time in my life, something I was pretty good at. My coach encouraged me to give the Victorian Regional Team a go at the Nationals and we won two gold medals. Coach then said why not tackle the Worlds and try out for the Auroras the Australian team and I did. 2 sets of benchmarking won me a chance to race in green and gold in the senior B squad. September 25th 2019 at the 14th IDBF World Dragon Boat Racing Championships, Pattaya Thailand I managed to gain a seat in three races and reserve for one. Winning Bronze in the women’s standard boat 2km, a Bronze in the senior A mixed women’s standard boat 1000m, a Bronze in women’s standard 500m and a Gold in the women’s standard 200m. The experience I will never forget. Not everyone gets to represent their country and yes, I balled my eyes out when on the podium singing the national anthem alongside Canada and America. See more

16.01.2022 To the toughest, hardest working, most dedicated and ferocious exercise enthusiasts I know this video is for you. For all those who featured in the clip, you looked absolutely amazing; and for those who didn’t, take comfort in the fact that you and I both know how hard you worked and how much effort you put in to what was an extremely hard session. Well done to you all, and thank you for being such an awesome bunch of mother truckers!!!! (Roz wouldn’t let me write the real words.) I swear every time I watch this clip it makes me want to get my ass to the gym and hit the iron. You’re all a bunch of bloody legends and I’m so proud to be you’re trainer.

15.01.2022 For those of you brave enough to come to the try-outs tomorrow night, here is all you need to know. We'll get underway at 6pm so be at the studio on time. Make sure you bring a few snacks as there will be rest breaks between events. Also, some form of electrolyte drink would be advisable.... Finally, for those of you who were wondering, feel free to bring a couple of beers/wines to toast your victories. Looking forward to seeing you all there... It'll be fun I promise.

15.01.2022 Back in business!!!! More info to follow

14.01.2022 Hey Team. There will be a few changes when we return to the gym but one of the most significant will be the absence of the reigning employee of the month (undisputed and undefeated champion for the past four years!!!!) Antionette has written a message to you all that I will share shortly, but not before I say publicly how much she means to me. Running the studio the way we do is not easy. There are so many elements that go into giving people the kind of experience that I a...m proud to deliver, especially in terms of variety and intensity for such a wide range of fitness levels. As a client it’s hard to see the thought and planning that goes into achieving this but speaking from the other side of the workout, there is definitely a requirement to stay cool under pressure and think quick on your feet. With my hand on my heart I can say that Antionette not only developed these skills but far exceeded my expectations in every area. From developing challenging workouts that were also interesting and fun, to building strong relationships with many of the clients, her dedication to the role is unquestionable. I couldn’t have asked for a better co-worker and every time I asked clients about how she was going their response suggested they couldn’t ask for a better trainer. Thank you so much Antionette for your continued commitment and I am forever grateful for the care and attention you gave to all the members at Styles Health. Good luck for the future and there’s always a place for you anytime you feel like dropping in for a session. So to finish, here is a message from Antionette to you all. Hey!! It's Ant here, I just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed training you all for the last few years! Many of you know I started a Tafe course this year, and it has had me very busy! So I have made a decision to resign from Styles Health to focus on my study. I have made a lot of friendships and have been lucky to work with Jon and you all. Keep working hard and hopefully we will all catch up at some stage or at a Styles Health event!

13.01.2022 Just thought I’d share the video from today’s ‘Styles Health in Lockdown’ online program that’s been running for the past eight weeks. You don’t have to watch the whole thing but I’m sure the first couple of mins will brighten up your day. They say you should never work with animals... I disagree.

13.01.2022 Weekend Event 6 will be for Styles Health members only, so all details will be posted on the studio notice board.

12.01.2022 STYLES HEALTH REOPENING PLAN Hey Team. I hope you are all doing well and have kept your insanely high levels of fitness throughout this whole COVID-19 period. I’m sure everyone is busting to get back in the gym and tell me how hard you have been working. I can’t wait to hear all about it. ...Continue reading

11.01.2022 Only 13 places left for SATURDAY NIGHT LIGHTS which will be held on the 10th of August. Message me if you want to secure a spot. Doors will open at 6pm with the event brief starting at 6:15pm. Estimated completion will be around 7:30.... Thinking of ordering some pizzas once the workout is done so bring some cash if you plan on hanging back afterwards for a feed. $5.00 per person should cover it. I'll order before we kick off so they can be delivered just as we're finishing up. The event will be held at the studio, so to make room for everyone the children’s playpen will once again be used for storage. In the interest of safety, I cannot have kids walking around the gym so please make other arrangements for your children. I would suggest bringing a snack to be consumed at some stage during the event. Alternatively, bring a pillow and blanket so you can be comfortable whilst you have a lay down. It's going to be an absolute ripper and considering it's on Saturday night, it'll be just like going out... sort of.

11.01.2022 Here's all you need to know for Sunday. 1. Be at the Styles Health studio at 8:50am (Brief starts 9:00am sharp!) 2. We should be done by 11:00am at the latest. (Based on peoples ability to follow instructions this could blow out until 4pm... jokes folks)... 3. Bring a towel, water and snacks to get you through. I suggest some fruit, a sandwich, energy bar and a family size pizza. 4. Due to the number of athletes participating, space will be limited so I will be using the kids play area as storage. This means the play area will be out of bounds and I can't have kids moving around the gym during the event for safety reasons. Please make arrangements so you don't have to bring your children to the event. 5. That's is at this stage - unless I think of anything else. P.S. I still have four spots left... if you're brave enough!

08.01.2022 SUNDAY 2ND OF JUNE. GET READY TO RUMBLE!

03.01.2022 Maybe it has something to do with the completion of 'Dry July' or maybe people just like a beer with their pizza; whatever the case, many of you have asked if it's OK to bring a few of your favorite beverages for the 'cool down'. I don't normally promote drinking but after confirming the workout details this afternoon, I think a few quiet ones will be well earned. So if you plan on staying for pizza, feel free to pack a few of your favorite drinks. ... Don't forget... Doors open at 6pm, bring snacks to be eaten during event and $5 for pizza. I'd recommend some warm clothes too (for after the workout).
