25.01.2022 Crazy start to the day with the teen waking with extreme tooth pain that required an urgent dental appointment with another appointment tomorrow for a root canal!! Thankfully I was up and dressed and we were able to zip out straight away. * It felt like Spring this morning (not so much tonight) so I reached for a lovely soft pink and black blouse which I paired with older black linen bubble pants and soft pink lace ups. 24.01.2022 After a week off last week, I was actually excited to be back at work, albeit in the home office, this morning. At a meeting today we were advised that we are not expected to return to the office until next year, and I not unhappy about that * I am doing training at the moment to become an accredited Mental Health First Aider so for the final season this morning I decided on simple and minimal with a black dress and minimal but statement earrings. No fuss putting this toget...her and it meant my mind was firmly on this morning’s session. * Dresses like this @mottofashions Moon Dress are definitely one of my go to outfits. The interest is in the shape with the slightly fitted top part and the drape and tulip style skirt. 21.01.2022 I am generally loving working from home however this past week I have started to have a bit of a groundhog day experience SO given it was a beautiful warm day today, I relocated to our outdoor area and worked from there all morning. It was just lovely. Sun was out and my doggies sat with me (one of them started drinking my coffee when I wasn’t looking ) while I worked and participated in zoom meetings in the great outdoors. I am finding varying my work location at home is... a great strategy for keeping motivated. * The new season brings with it an excitement as I rediscover items in my wardrobe that have been ‘rested’ during the Winter months. Dresses are so easy for working at home and this one is an absolute favourite. It’s a heavy weight linen, large scale gingham from @evassunday. This was the first item I purchased from Eva’s Sunday which I bought on sale. 20.01.2022 Spring has sprung and I felt the need for pretty today! . Of course pretty has to be infused with some edge, so black accessories and a sneaker! So comfy. . For those who follow regularly you will know that about 10 weeks ago I embarked on some lifestyle changes primarily with a view to improving my general health and wellbeing. I have shared on and off in stories (and I have created a highlight if you’d like to take a look), however I thought it might be of interest to outl...ine why I took this step and the changes I have experiencedjust in case anyone finds it helpful. . Some of the challenges I have been facing over recent years (and some longer) are difficulty sleeping, night sweats, random aches and pains, anxiety*, low energy levels, mental fogginess, weight gain, and keeping up with a very energetic (mentally and physically) teenager. Some of these could be attributed to menopause. I had a partial hysterectomy at 45 (I have one ovary), so the most obvious indicator of menopause (changes and ceasing of a monthly period) has not been available to me to confirm menopause. But at 55 and upon consultation with my GP I think we are safe to assume I am there . I had become so used to not feeling great that I just accepted it and had no expectation that I could actually be functioning MUCH better. But after some soul searching and seeing a friend improve her own health last year, I realised it wasn’t good enough and it was time to make my health and wellbeing a priority. That friend just happens to be Keto Practitioner (handy for me) and after months of talking about it, I finally made a decision. 10 weeks on and I have seen some amazing changes. I sleep! All night! And I wake in the morning rested and ready (even a little excited) to start the day. And all the things I mentioned above are a distant memory. I am amazed at the amount of energy I have and mentally I feel more ‘ on the ball’. I don’t slump in the afternoon and my energy levels are consistent throughout the day. I am also now 8.5gk lighter and no longer in the higher diabetes risk group. I walk every day and do yoga once a week. .... Continued in comments! #myketojourney #keto See more

19.01.2022 I did not wear this today Spring took a day off and the rain came! * So here’s one I prepared earlier! Another pic from a shoot for beautiful Canadian #slowfashion brand @cedarandvine . This Two Way Linen Top is a fabulous and functional design. A transeasonal piece , it works on its own or can be layered over (or under) for the cooler days. Made from a very sturdy linen, there is a weight in it that makes it perfect for the winter months too. And it’s designed so it can... be worn with the round neck, or turn it around and wear it with the deep v neck. Worn here with the cute linen shorts. Elasticised waist (comfort) and front pockets more practical that back pockets IMHO I will definitely be running around in these when summer hitssomething to look forward to. * And something else to look forward to, now that regional restrictions have been eased a little, is a few days off work next week. 19.01.2022 And just like that Sunday is done * It was a beautiful sunny day and hubby and I grabbed a coffee this afternoon and went for a walk around around the local reservoir. Loads of people out, all masked up and enjoying their daily exercise. * The Spring sun was a good reason to take a new top for a spin. This oversized top is going to be a key player in my Spring/Summer wardrobe. It replaces two other similar tops that I have worn to pieces. 16.01.2022 Today felt like the actual first day of Spring . 20 degrees and the sun was shining, so the day called for an outfit that reflected the beautiful relaxed vibe of the day. * This outfit is part old and part new. One of the best things about slow fashion is that slow fashion brands are not churning out designs 24/7 and creating a dear if missing out so that we develop a ‘buy buy buy’ mentality. Slow fashion brands create and continue designs that don’t date, that last and ...that you will want to wear over and over. These ‘droppies’ from @vigorella_aus are one of my most worn pairs of pants. They are 4 years old, a signature style of Vigorella and are still available for purchase which is brilliant because at some point I’m going to wear them out, or I might like to add a different colour. 16.01.2022 What a glorious Sunday! Cool but the sun has been out most of the day * One of my favourite looks is coated fabrics. I am not a lover of wearing leather because I find it too restrictive and bulky but I love the look, so coated fabrics give me the look, and comfort, and they tend to be home washable! * I have been so excited to wear this outfit and today was the day! If you follow along regularly you will know that I love @evassunday . Their ranges are designed and ma...de with longevity in mind. Their signature is natural fibres, quality workmanship and pieces that are made for layering throughout the seasons. * I am wearing the Ginza Long Pants. They are a coated linen in a drop crotch design that reflects the beautiful Japanese aesthetic I so love. These are a long length so I have cuffed them to create a more cropped length. Shirt is an old one from my closet and I finished the look with the Glenda Jacket in the same coated linen. 14.01.2022 Is it still toddler dressing if I’m over 50 lol?!? * Hot weekends call for the ease of a jumpsuit. I can wear this one without a top underneath which will be great as it gets warmer but today I felt like some contrast and coverage so I layered a simple black tee underneath. * Khaki is a fab neutral and one I don’t wear often even though I know it suits me.. do you do that?? 13.01.2022 Feeling a lot better today so I pulled out a new pair of culottes (full length pants on me lol) and took them for a spin. Funny how wearing something for the first time can lift one’s spirits. * While I find traditionally wide leg pants are not the best on me, culottes and wide leg pants that are more fitted on the tummy and thighs create a much nicer silhouette on my body. This style pants works well with quite a few different top styles (tunics and dresses). * You may kno...w that I have a real love of @mottofashions leatherette pieces. My collection is slowly growing with pants, jackets and skirts! The look is that of leather, however it has more movement, is less restrictive and is machine washable, oh and more affordable!. When I saw these in the Forest Green I was rather taken, it’s a great colour to pair with white or black. The fabric is actually a ponte with a foil coating. 12.01.2022 Happy Friday! * A busy one at home today. Enjoyed a lovely walk in the sunshine and then got to reorganising my closet. Putting my heavy winter pieces away and bringing out some items for Spring. Doing this made me realise just how transeasonal most of my wardrobe is! 11.01.2022 What a great Monday! I think it must have been the beautiful sunny day that got me so motivated * Started some online modules for an accredited course I am doing, went for a walk with a friend, did a virtual yoga class and got heaps of work done! * Also had time to put together today’s outfit with some lovely new and gifted items from @mottofashions . It’s no secret I love black and white and I also love to layer using black and white for it’s crisp drama. The new items ...here are the leatherette pants and the soft blouse with a dipped hemline (perfect for layering with). Because it was still cool, I layered an older crop sweater over the shirt and accessorised with some rubber accessories. The attraction for me with black rubber jewellery is that it creates a soft statement. The designs are bold but the material is soft, comfortable and so easy to wear. A little style tip for the blondes/silvers out there we can wear white and silver shoes very easily as they ‘bookend’ our hair. This means we don’t ‘need’ to repeat the white anywhere else in our outfit! 09.01.2022 Well Happy Friday! I am rather excited because tomorrow I am driving to Melbourne (now that the ring of steel is open) to visit my mum for a belated 80th birthday celebration. It has been about 5 months since I have been able to see my family. We did visit just before the second lockdown but it has been a while. * My day started with breakfast with a friend followed by some shopping for tomorrow.. some goodies to take with me and then some shopping for the teen and home fo...r the afternoon. I am just a bit exhausted and ready for a quiet night in. * I really enjoyed my outfit today. I am a huge fan of ‘vests’ or ‘gilets’ and this one is current season @mottofashions. Most of my vests are of the unstructured variety. I like the fluidity and drape and until now most of mine are longer. This cropped style has a buckle at the back so you can adjust the fit and it works beautifully if you want to create a nipped in look at the waist. It is incredibly comfortable, the bamboo fabric is soft and has the loveliest drape. The cut of the dress is incredibly fla...ttering and the one size should work for most. 08.01.2022 A very productive day! Cleaned out my car and had my hair cut and coloured. I have SO much hair and it had gotten so full and fluffy, it feels good to have gone a little shorter, texturised and a good going over with the ‘thinning’ scissors. Note today’s shot is before my hair appointment I am very tempted to go full pixie with a sweeping fringe for summer what do you think?? * Anyway wearing a recent purchase that I am very happy with. I adore this print and may ...have gone a little overboard on it this season I am not really a tshirt wearer but I do like what I call an upscale tee. This one is a boxy cut and the fabric is soft so it works for me. I have just front tucked it into my culottes and added my favourite belt. Perfect for weekends but also smart enough for work. 08.01.2022 A big day for our little family tomorrow! * Seth turns 18! I am not quite sure how 18 years has managed to pass by quite so quickly. * What I do know, is that he has brought so much joy to Leighton and myself. We have grown in ways we couldn’t have imagined. We have experienced a kind of love that knows no limit. Mixed in with that at times has been fear, worry and (quite a bit of) anxiety. The questioning of oneself have I parented well. The challenge of the balance be...tween guiding your young person, and allowing your young person to learn for themselves. * Seth is one of my favourite people. He is intelligent, funny (cleverly so), compassionate, adventurous and loyal. It is a privilege and a blessing to be his mum. 08.01.2022 As you know I like to play silhouettes, layers and shapes in my outfits and I thought this pretty soft pink top was fun piece to play with. * There are elements of this round neck cable knit jumper that I find quite classic yet the asymmetric hemline adds a hint of modern. It’s a clever combination of design. This jumper looks fab over a skinny pant but I found myself wanting to create a slightly exaggerated silhouette, so chose to wear a Japanese inspired linen sarong style... skirt instead. * Pairing the soft pink with heavy black made it feel very ‘me’ and as it doesn’t yet appear to time to the knits away, I am going to enjoy wearing this combo. * And in other news, I am on leave for the rest of the week I love my job but am in need of some down time. 06.01.2022 What a beautiful Father’s Day! * Given restrictions it has been a quiet day at home and a special dinner tonight. Feeling grateful for my little family and thankful to my husband for being a truly amazing dad. My husband wasn’t initially that keen on becoming a dad, in fact when we met we didn’t think we would have children. But, thankfully, something greater was at play in our lives and our son has been the most incredible blessing. And over the years I have seen qualiti...es and characteristics in my husband that I don’t think would have developed without the experience of being a parent. So, while we are thankful for him every day, I guess today we just get to say thank you a little louder . * The day called for a Spring look so I reworked a dress that I selected as part of a collaboration earlier in the year. To be honest, I struggled with styling it for the coming A/W season at the time and it nearly made it to the donate pile, however yesterday I had one last play and realised that it was actually an ideal Spring dress and that my attempted Winter stylings were all just too heavy looking. So today I wore it very simply, with my birks, added my Love belt and rubber earrings and it finally looked that way I imagined in my head! 05.01.2022 What a fabulous day got out of town for a couple of hours and it was just what I needed * A visit to my favourite little town of Kyneton, had a walk, a wander and a coffee and then headed back home. No oufit pic today but I did want to show you these striking monochromatic earrings (#gifted) from local maker @amperzandesign. Pranjali is a true creative who paints, knits, draws and also works with polymer clay to create some wonderful jewellery lots of colourful design...s too. * I am wearing her Ebony Ivory Dangles and, as you can see, they are a great size and a fab statement design. 02.01.2022 I have many flats shoes, but ballet flats haven’t been part of my shoe-robe since the 80’s/90’s. 02.01.2022 So before I ended up in a snugly jumper today, I got dressed for the teen’s final root canal at the Dentist! * Did something radical for me and wore jeans! Was feeling a minimal look so skinny jeans and a brilliant current season cotton poplin shirt from @tirelli_australia Simplicity at its best and it can be tucked or worn loose with the balloon sleeves doing all the talking. I know crisp shirts are not for everyone but, once upon a time, I didn’t think they were for me e...ither but now they are a staple in my wardrobe.
