10.01.2022 Another nervy night. Big southerly brought gale force winds, dirty rain but no fires near us. Very grateful that some of the communities closer to the front must be so relieved. But the fires are moving on to new grounds. But all is well at Currrarong. The gang of New England Honey Eaters are pushing each other into the birdbath and the Black Cockatoos are munching up the Banksia men.

08.01.2022 Always worth popping into the Nowra Art Gallery. Besides great aircon on a hot day they sell really nice objects often made by local artists.

07.01.2022 Summer 2020 - Not one to forget. We feel very lucky to have survived the last few weeks. Our holiday place is on the South Coast where some of the worst fires were. But even though we were close at times we never ended up directly in danger, the ocean winds rescued us and pushed the fires to the west away from us. But still burnt leaves fell, the beaches covered in ash, the rain, if any fell, black and sooty, the sky at times black and the smoke at times unbearable. I can onl...y imagine what it was like in the other villages closer to the fury of the fires. We are devastated by the destruction of wildlife who couldn't get away from the ferocity of these fires. It's heartbreaking. Will we learn to be more conscious as a community? Learn to prioritise our environment over coal mining exports? I just don't know. Please donate to WIRES. 06.01.2022 The little house hasn't been as available due to Covid circumstances but you can book some time in December and February and March now. 02.01.2022 Good news for the drive in to Currarong. They've also already dropped the speed limit on the road in to 80km which I totally love. I feel more relaxed and safer.
