The brand-new event aims to raise future leaders, business people, and world-changers. Th...is month, we're honouring one of these incredible people as our #VolunteerOfTheMonth - Jonny Hall! We asked him some questions to find out why he volunteers for SU! ? Originally Sunny Coast, but have recently moved to Brisbane for work. ? I work as an IT support Tech at Lorna Jane (big retail company). ? My cousin invited me to my first ever GENTS camp when I was in Grade 8 back in 2011! I’ve loved SU QLD Camps ever since / ? GENTS Camp, training week, and I am on the steering committee for SU-Schoolies Sunny Coast! ? I found so much value in being a camper. I also had such great leaders to show me how cool it was being a Christian and showing that they can actually have fun too! I found a real love for being that person for the next generation, to be able to show them what God’s love looks like, and being able to share that with others is a real honour. ? I’d have to say one of my favourite memories has been leading one camper through GENTS camp and SU-Schoolies over a few years. It's been a privilege to see his relationship with God strengthen - and being there when he had a breakthrough at SU-Schoolies, knowing he could "graduation proof" his faith, was awesome. Seeing the impact God has had on his life has been unforgettable. ? I think it gives the kids a chance to get out of the church bubble, possibly even their family bubble for a bit and experience God’s presence in a new and different way, in a safe space, and also meet like-minded kids that are all looking for answers. ? If you love God, love kids, and want to see the next generation be impactful and be able to slowly change the world, then I would give it a go! Plus, you make so many lifelong friends with the leaders along the way! Thanks Jonny for all you do! 11.01.2022 Recently, the QLD Chief Health Officer and Premier announced the cancellation of Schoolies public events, among other restrictions. The good news for SU-Schoolies Sunny Coast is we have a Covid Safe Plan for our event, which we’ve developed in conjunction with Alexandra Park Conference Centre. This will allow us to proceed under the appropriate Industry Action Plan. While this plan includes a cap on participants and restrictions on some activities, rest assured we are putting together a program that will allow you to still have the time of your life as you celebrate finishing your 12 years of schooling with your peers. So grab your friends and book with us before we fill and celebrate the finishing of school.

09.01.2022 Save The Date! Camp Leaders Weekend is a key event for SU QLD Volunteers to come together, network and be trained in camp and community outreach ministry.... It’s a great opportunity to meet new people and be developed for impacting your community for Jesus. You’ll also have the chance to relax and have fun around Coolum. All leaders are required to complete training annually, so why not do it over an enjoyable weekend with a bunch of like-minded leaders. Registrations open soon!
