25.01.2022 THE DOJO IS OPEN!!! Its been a long 3 months, but we are all finally able to go back to our home Going forward, there are a lot of changes, and a lot of new rules in place for everyones health and safety. Please read carefully!... WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: MEMBERSHIP FEES. No fees for the first 2 weeks of Taekwondo. WHAT YOU NEED TO DO: Maximum 10 students per class. Please text 0419629528 if you are training. SOCIAL DISTANCING STILL APPLIES! We now have markers on the floor to remind everyone to keep their distance at all times. 1.5 metres apart until we are told otherwise! NO ENTRY TO CLASS UNTIL PREVIOUS CLASS HAS EXITED. Students waiting for their class to start will need to line up in the lobby (maintaining social distance), and stay out of the dojo until the previous class has finished, and you have been instructed to enter the dojo. NO SPECTATORS. Parents, siblings, and friends will need to remain in their cars while the students train. Anyone entering the building will need to use the provided hand sanitiser upon entry. BRING YOUR OWN DRINK BOTTLES! We will no longer be providing drinking cups. All students must bring their own drink bottle. BRING YOUR OWN EQUIPMENT! Gloves, shin pads, uniforms, etc. are no longer available to borrow, and students are asked NOT to lend theirs to other students. These are all available for purchase at the reception desk if you misplace yours. WHAT WE ARE DOING: We are a COVID-safe Martial Arts School, certified by the Martial Arts Industry Association. This certification requires us to follow strict health and safety rules. We have completed the COVID-safe Instructor courses, and there will always be at least one certified covid-safe instructor present. All rooms, all equipment, and all floors/walls/counters, have been thoroughly cleaned with disinfectant, which will be done frequently. All equipment used during classes will be wiped with disinfectant every day. Thank you See you all on Monday

18.01.2022 Exciting Future Ahead. Dear Subak MMA students and families, I hope you are all very well and excited about resuming your training this coming term. I am writing to you all to share with you some very exciting news. Over the past 12 months I have been considering the future of Subak MMA. I have been struggling with some niggling injuries and with my role as a School Principal at St Johns Primary School; it has been increasingly difficult to manage all of my roles.... HOWEVER, the exciting news is that Subak MMA will continue with a new team. I am very excited to announce that Connah and Nicole Matthews will be taking over the Subak MMA business and Coach Josh Parkinson will be continuing to bring everyone the best of BJJ with Spartan BJJ. It has been an absolute honour to work with so many great students since 2001 back here in Dubbo. I will always be so grateful to Kim Macrae, who not only is family, but my great Instructor. I look back on these years and think how much Subak MMA has brought to Dubbo. Under our leadership, we were able to bring AMAC tournaments to Dubbo and we have also brought the very best in BJJ instruction to Dubbo. Right back to Marcelo Rezendes visit, to bringing Rener Gracie from America and our very great relationship with Max and Pete deBeen. I am so proud when I think about the great Black Belts who gained their Taekwondo Black Belt, under Kim and Subak MMA. I will always be so proud of very grateful to our Black Belt students such as Sam and Dyan Jeresano, Leanna and Will Mills, Mickaela, Deena and Shaye Percy, Isaac Mcleenan, Pat Smith, James Fern, Joshua Parkinson, Bindi Shaw, Dylan Williams, Tyneesha Williams, Matt Connolly, Tori Kearns, Bryce Abel, Courtney Charlton and of course I cant forget my 2 kids Zac and Alyssa OLeary. (Forgive me if I have forgotten anyone) You have all been a joy to train with. I am so excited that the new team will bring amazing skills to our students moving forward. I am going to come in and still train and enjoy being a student when I can. Kim will continue to also support the new team this year. I urge you to support and continue your training. With great teachers bringing fresh ideas and energy your training will go to the next level. With BJJ, weapons, Taekwondo and Karate your training will have immense variety. Thank you for an amazing journey and I know Subak MMA is in safe hands. Anthony O See more

08.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Would anyone be interested in a school aged kids bootcamp style day or two during the school holidays? What our thinking is 9-3 one day each week of the holidays, with kids doing a range of activities (flexibility, tae kwon do, weapons, karate, jitz, boxing, muay thai, MMA, martial arts games). Maybe pizza or something similar and warm for lunch. Morning and Afternoon tea provided (fruit, maybe cake or similar). Probably around $60.00 per child per day. Family discounts would be available. Just a thought, let us know if youd be interested. Well decide a day when we know numbers so if you have a preferred day, let us know that as well.

03.01.2022 Clean and Covid-19 safe

02.01.2022 Hi all. Tomorrows 5pm class is going to be a martial arts games class. Fun and fitness using technique but mainly having a laugh and celebrating life. ... Regardless of how old you are come along and play.

01.01.2022 Hi Everybody, Connah and I are extremely excited to be starting on this new journey with Subak Martial Arts, but very sorry to see Anthony stepping back. While we recognise he needs to step back, we will miss his fun spirit, guidance and skills. We are definitely looking forward to having him back whenever he wishes to train (or teach, just saying). We would like to take a moment to publicly acknowledge and THANK Anthony for his surrounding us with love, positivity and oppor...tunity. Anthony, you will be forever welcome and someone we consider a friend and mentor. As of Monday, we have a new timetable with a few new classes for people to try out and we hope you will enjoy them. The dojo will be open from 4.30, with classes starting at 5.00. Over the next few weeks, we will be updating the website and everyones contact details. When next youre in the dojo, could you please update your contact details etc. with whoever is on the front desk. As some of you know, Connah and I have 12 plus years in Karate, Muay Thai, Kobo jitsu, MMA and Jiu jitsu (Connah) and we have been teaching for 5 of those years. Our aim for the club is to continue the family feel and the friendly atmosphere, while adding just a few new classes. After all, it was the lovely welcome and constant friendliness which encouraged us to join the club in the first place. One of the new classes we will be introducing is a half an hour class aimed at the youngest of students Our Superhero Academy where students from 3 will begin their martial arts journey. The focus of these classes is gross motor, focus and listening skills, while learning skills from a range of different martial arts formats. We are currently taking enrolments for this class so if you have, or know of, an aspiring Superhero, who might be interested in joining us, please share with them that this class will be starting soon. Numbers will be limited (10) due to COVID-19 so it will be first in, best dressed. The dress code for this class is casual with costumes being perfectly fine, I.E Superhero, Jedi, Princesses, Ninja Turtles etc, whatever is fine. We hope to see you all back training soon and please feel free to speak with us if you have any questions, queries or suggestions for improvements. Thanks for embracing us, Nicole and Connah See more
