12.01.2022 WA STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2018. A great tournament as always with smiles all around. Managed to take out the U17s playing Damon Blakey in the final and winning in ...3. I played U19s as well losing to Oscar Curtis in 4 in a tight match. In play off for 3/4 I beat Callum Blakey in 5 after being 2-0 up (almost choked it). In the end managed a 3rd and 1st. Thanks to everyone that came for the event, the tournament sponsors, and my personal sponsors Salming, Grays and Subiaco Kings Squash Club . 06.01.2022 Many of you would have received an email this morning through Sporty HQ from Richard Vaughan, CEO of Squash Australia regarding the suspension of WA Squash from... Squash Australia. I have just received this reply from Dean Williams, General Manager of WA Squash: Hi Everyone . By now most of you would have read the email which the CEO of Sq A sent out using a mass email from Sportyhq . The President of Sq A , Jo Brodie is shocked at this email and it is NOT supported by Her or The Board of Sq A. Glenn Hitch and the WA Squash Board are very aware of this aggressive move by Sq A which does not do anything positive for the game of Squash. I can assure you that if this is the decision of The Board of Sq A that WA Squash is ready . I have in place full insurance coverage from the 1st of Jan 2020 if needed plus I am working on a new sportyhq package so as we do not have to rely on Sq A . I can also assure you that we have 100% support from DSR , WASF (now called Sportwest) and the State Govt through the Minister of Sport , Mick Murray. DSR will not get involved at this stage as they view it as a matter for Sq A to sort out . I will have more for you as it unfolds .
