25.01.2022 It's certainly not HUMP DAY at Subbie today! We thought everyone had KonMari'd their houses in self iso but today alone we've had over 30 COVID-safe drop offs. Clearly there is still a great need for recycling and reusing! Don't forget - we recycle anything with a battery or a power cord!

25.01.2022 Yesterday Robbie from OzHarvest OzHarvest Brisbane dropped by with a 'broken fret'....well not actually a 'broken fret' https://youtu.be/153hBzKPnGc But in reality a sunvisor bracket with an 8 week replacement part lead time - simply fire up the 3D printer and problem solved...

25.01.2022 This humble little red onion started its life on a supermarket shelf. It then sat there too long - so it was picked up and delivered to us by OzHarvest. Feeling a little less than fresh one of our wonderful Substation33 people planted him in our new garden. Third times a charm - this little onion has been saved from the rubbish pile and people along the way have made small smart decisions to reuse or recycle. What small actions have you done to #reuse or #recycle ?

21.01.2022 How's this for a 'Blast from the past'. Over 25 years ago Ricky built these AV box's when he was a Sound Engineer for the big shows, Kiss, Angels, Radiators, Prince and of course Daddy Cool. Today they turn up at Substation33 full of eWaste - the big question is, who wants to give these handcrafted masterpieces a new life...

21.01.2022 Over the past month Tony and Jackson have been preparing for summer by visiting all our flooded road signs and making sure they are ready for Queensland's iconic summer storms. Designed in-house and in partnership with Logan City Council, when flood waters reach the sensor, the road flooded sign flashes to alert drivers. The signs are powered through solar panels and recycled lithium batteries from laptops. The innovative design and programming of these signs allows real time mapping and information for each road location to be provided to disaster management entities. Data collected is used to support planning and design considerations for both roads and flood modelling. Remember - if it's flooded - forget it!

It's a business that operates to intentionally tackle social problems, improve communities, provide people access to employment and training, or help the environment. Here at Substation 33 we do this by reimagining eWaste. Whether it's reusing lithium batteries from laptops, building and using 3D printers, refurbishing computers or recycling parts of broken appliances - we do what we do because we care about th...e people we're doing it with. #WhoKnew #SocialEnterpriseDay

03.01.2022 Please stop calling the current South East Queensland COVID-19 cases a "Melbourne-Logan cluster" Courier Mail Albert & Logan News As far as we are aware there i...s currently one active case involving a person who lives in Logan, along with other cases in Brisbane South, Ipswich and the Darling Downs. We appreciate the need for caution and for testing for people who may have been at any of the locations visited by people who are infected by the virus. However people who live and work in Logan are reporting that they are having trouble accessing services because of misinformation and stereotyping that has conveyed an inaccurate message that Logan is a hotbed of infection. See https://www.qld.gov.au//cor/current-status/contact-tracing for the up to date list of locations for contact tracing. See more

Many of the students didn’t have access to laptops which were a crucial tool for the program. Fortunately, Substation 33 were able to supply some which were very generously donated by Metagenics Radek Tumalski from the Metagenics team is a Mabel Park alumni and was all too happy to assist.
