24.01.2022 Spread the word. If your business, school or council owned park has a beehive that is worrisome or a safety issue there are beekeepers who are willing to take it for free. Personally, we do not offer this service but we can put you in touch with those that do. It is so sad to hear of or see thousands of dead bees because they were in someones way. They can be re-homed and make pure Australian Honey for us all to enjoy! #savethebees

13.01.2022 Raw honey tip for cold mornings! Crystalline honey is not bad, in fact it shows that your honey is pure and raw, it just needs some warm winter love. Pop it in a sunny spot during the day, or sit your container in a sink of warm water. Brrr...we all need a bit of warmth sometimes! Tell us, do you warm your honey up or do like the crystalline crunch?

12.01.2022 We are back at Maggies market this Sunday morning 8-12pm. To celebrate the addition of native bees to our garden we are offering native bee hives for sale (not including bees) for those also interested in native stingless bees. If you prefer the no maintenance option, an insect hotel may be perfect for your garden. An insect hotel is a safe habitat for solitary bees, butterflies, ladybugs and other beneficial insects to increases biodiversity in your garden.... Every hotel is handmade in Brisbane. We will have some available at the market and also taking orders.

12.01.2022 Gardening around the hives in full suits after a hive check when its 32C. We are suckers for punishment! Stay hydrated everyone!

09.01.2022 Weve been collaborating with some local artisans and there are wonderful things cooking up ready for Maggies market next weekend! Keep an eye out as we post some updates this week!

09.01.2022 If you know anyone near Townsville, please share! Australia is one of the last places not to have this pest of Varroa mite! Even NZ has it and it is very destructive.

09.01.2022 Enjoy the last weekend of school holidays with a visit to Maggies Markets! Beeswax wraps, lip balms, candles, wax, honey (of course) and a few limited edition honeycomb gift jars & tubs available tomorrow only! See you then!

07.01.2022 Just spent a very enjoyable evening talking the ears off the wonderful audience at the Salisbury Rotary club about bees. What a great group of people we have in our community & I got this souvenir mug to boot!

07.01.2022 You cant miss Crafty Salisbury, coming up in 3 weeks. We hope to see you there!

07.01.2022 Fake news is not our friend. Whilst sugar feeding has its place in very specific situations, this articles advice is unlikely to help. What you can do to help is: *Never feed any birds/insects honey (it encourages robbing and can spread disease) *Never buy imported honey... *Obey quarantine rules when travelling https://thenewdaily.com.au///facebook-fake-save-bees-post/

07.01.2022 Can you find the bee amongst the flowers? Enjoy your Easter weekend, we will be at Maggies markets Sunday 8th April. See you there!

06.01.2022 Did you know Australia is the last continent to NOT have Varroa mite?

04.01.2022 An update on beeswax by the Australian honey bee industry council. https://honeybee.org.au/beeswax-in-australia/

04.01.2022 As restrictions ease, I think a lot of us are feeling like this baby bee emerging from its brood cell. Freedom! As the weather cools down, we will be installing our winter mats in the hives to keep our girls warm and bunkered down. Just like us they enjoy an extra layer on at night time. We have plenty of stock still, and even some extras such as candles, lip balms and gift jars if you are looking for some Mothers Day gift ideas. Send us a message to make an appt!

04.01.2022 Busy restocking our homemade lip balms ready for the weekend at Salisbury Scorpions Kids helpline day and Ballistic Brew Crafty Salisbury. Today I finished off with a small experimental batch with Lavender oil, spilled some in my bain marie and now I'm pretty relaxed here in the Suburbeea honey kitchen! I'd love your feedback or requests for combinations you'd like me to create in the future!

04.01.2022 Its definitely been dry and getting shorter on stock this year, but this is nothing in comparison to what our fellow beekeepers are going through. So much effort goes into building a strong apiary against disease and pests, now fire and food shortages as well. It will take a long time for this ecosystem to recover. https://mobile.abc.net.au//beekeepers-traumatised/11721756

03.01.2022 Quarantine doing their best to delay the (unfortunately) inevitable. When travelling or importing goods, remember the inconvenience you go through is to keep Australia as clear from pests and disease as possible, and buy local Australian Honey, not imported - Check those labels! http://www.abc.net.au//varroa-mite-detected-in-mel/9923972

02.01.2022 Our honey has made it all the way to Cape York! Here it is enjoying the serenity away from Suburbeea!

01.01.2022 Hi all, dont forget to rock up this Saturday for Crafty Salisbury Autumn festival. We will be there along with lots of local representation. It will be sure to be a great afternoon/evening.
