17.01.2022 We often get asked can I claim rent or mortgage payments? If you are currently renting and have a separate space for your home office, you can claim a percentage of your rent depending on how many rooms you have in your house. For example; if you are using one out of five rooms as a personal home office you can claim 20% of your rent! Alternatively, if you own the property, it is best to not claim mortgage repayments as it affects your capital gains tax and the overall status of your house.

It's important to understand the trip has to either begin or end at the employee's place of work.
