23.01.2022 'Samson' and 'Spirit of the Anzac' in Julia Creek are getting a bit of attention. So nice to see your work appreciated! Meanwhile my latest horse is coming along - must be time for some more photos!
22.01.2022 This special piece left the gallery recently. It isn’t new, far from it! I made it for an exhibition back in the Studio2 days ‘Tutu pour Tu’ was made from 25 mt of hand pleated chicken wire - agony, but I loved the result. Anyway it was a piece I never really wanted to sell, but recently a lovely former student, now a beautiful young woman, asked if she could buy it for her Mum. A special sculpture for special people.
20.01.2022 I think it’s time to upgrade the pink boots.
18.01.2022 This time last year, my ‘Carandotta Horses’ sculpture in Mount Isa was being installed. It featured Blondie (see article), leading a mob of horses.
17.01.2022 Framing out the Cloncurry Stallion. I’ll build him from the inside out, and from the ground up. Sort of
14.01.2022 I rely a lot of modern technology and get really frustrated when it lets me down - like my brand new Gerni constantly blowing the hose off (having been replaced under w’ty because the tank blew); and my plasma cutter also new, refusing to cut, so off for repairs! So sometimes technology getting it right just delights me. A week ago I dumped a stack of really rusty horseshoes into my de-ruster, and today they’re like new! The cost of this magic? $4! Elbow grease required? Zero. The secret? Molasses! An old man told me about it around 20 years ago, not that I needed it then, and it’s amaaaazing! . Saves me hours and hours of grinding, and tests my RSI arm!
11.01.2022 It’s about time I posted an update on the Curry Stallion. You know that song ‘It’s all about the Bass’? Well it is! This is hip/leg version 4, and I think I’m finally happy! He needs to look like he will move like a real horse, and it just wasn’t happening, grrrr. But we’re on a roll now - a very hot, humid and sweaty roll, but a roll, yee haaaa!
11.01.2022 Yesterday I finally saw ‘Helping hands’ installed at St Benedict’s Catholic School. I have to admit to being a bit chuffed with how it looks, and it’s scale. I should have taken a video to show how the hands shimmy in the breeze too. Next time!
10.01.2022 Yep. Got most of these.
09.01.2022 Hi folks, I need 3 more of these horse shins. Can anyone help please. See dimensions in chalk
