The decision to extend the Emergency Period is short sighted and will create further problems for landlords and tenants when the Emergency Period ceases. As the Perth vacancy rate has reached just 1.6 per cent, extending the ban on rental increases will see a sharp price correction down the tr...ack rather than small incremental increases, placing unfair pressure on tenants.
