14.01.2022 it's almost here - after many many years of photographing families, the end of my photography career and wonderful journey is almost upon me. Interestingly enough I feel very good about the decision to close, I don't feel sad I feel excited. Excited about new adventures and opportunities. I am looking forward to my new life as a new wife (wedding next year sometime), and to having a little more freedom now my kids are almost independent, and of course travel : ) Photography... has been a wonderful vocation, I have been proud to call myself a photographer and write that on my immigration card whenever I fly, or fill in forms ... In fact I can vividly remember the first time I wrote 'photographer' for occupation. Sounded so much more exciting than banker or housewife. Photography has allowed me to feed my passion, it has allowed me to work with people, it has allowed me freedom and creativity, and perhaps most importantly running the business has allowed me to support, clothe, house and feed my family over the many years as a single mother. I feel like so many of my clients are now my friends, including the wonderful workshop participants, and I simply love playing with newborn babies, then watching them grow up into rowdy gorgeous kids and even teenagers. My last offical day shooting is next Saturday 28th October. The red doors will close (after a few bubbles) on November 4th. Thank you to all my lovely clients, from the bottom of my heart - it is my clients who have allowed me to run my business successfully for as long as I have. It has been because of your trust in me to take beautiful photos of your babies, children and even pets that I have enjoyed myself so much, and kept my business so strong in what has been a competitive and at times challenging business. Thank you Thank you Thank you. See more

04.01.2022 Big NEWS! As some of you may know, last year I became engaged to my lovely partner Andrew, and we are planning for a wedding in 2018. As part of this exciting change in my life, I have decided to close my Sandringham studio. I plan to take some time out to develop some new business ideas, travel and spend time with my family so .... ... therefore I will be closing my lovely red doors for good at Sue Stone Photography (Station street, Sandringham) early in November. I would l...ove you to pop in to say farewell and share a glass of wine with me anytime during the day on Saturday 4th November. Throughout August, September and October you have the opportunity to book one of my very last studio sessions, just in time to update your family photos for Christmas. If you have been considering coming in for photos, there is still time to grab a session with me before I close. All final sessions will enjoy the same quality of service and wonderful product range I offer, plus the option to purchase the digital files. For previous clients please contact me if you wish to place additional orders or purchase the digital files from previous session archives before I close. My intention is to continue the popular Photography Workshops, which I will spend some time re-creating based on feedback received over the years. The new workshops will have a little less theory, more post-production, more practical lessons plus excursions so stay tuned. I am also developing an online photography course for those who can’t get to me. Instead of shooting studio portraits, I plan to focus on my interests in web design, marketing, graphic design and brand promotion for small businesses. In fact there are a few ideas in the pipeline, unrelated to photography, that I am sure will keep me very busy. I have worked as a full-time photographer for almost 20 years, and have loved every minute of it! I have met so many amazing people and also developed many lasting friendships. I have taken great delight in watching so many babies and young children grow up, and enjoyed being part of so many family’s lives. It has been great fun, so now I just wanted to contact you all to to say .... .... Thank you all for your friendship and support over the years. It is always hard not to look back, however I am very excited for the journey I have ahead and of course I will still be here, in lovely Melbourne (in between travels). Big hugs Sue http://mailchi.mp/bigpond/studio-closing-2407345
