25.01.2022 Now open full time in Mackay due to popular demand. Awesome to see our naming rights sponsor for Sugar City Powerfest going so well. Support those that support our sports for all your mechanical needs give Brad Challacombe and the team a call now to secure your booking.

25.01.2022 There are quite a few cars that are double entered into the burnouts for The Insane Performance Sugar City Powerfest on the 18th-20th of September at Palmyra Dr...agway and the AU XR6 Falcon ute named Bloke will be steered by a second driver in the 6 cylinder class named Ferkan Kerali. It's awesome to see mates and families getting out there and doing what they enjoy together, and that's what this event will be a great family friendly place where we can all get out and enjoy what we love. Tickets and event info available at http://www.palmyradragway.com.au/powerfest/ See more

25.01.2022 Ok guys and gals we are filling up fast with entries so if you want to be a part of this event you better get in quick otherwise you might miss out. It is sad to hear that Northern Nats has just been cancelled, so we know we are going to get inundated but please understand Palmyra is not a massive venue like Springmount and Willowbank and we need to keep within Covid regs so entries may close earlier than the 11th of September due to this. Dont wait till last minute because it could be too late. Thanks for your understanding from Jason and Kim Earl and the Palmyra Drag club crew.

25.01.2022 The Insane Performance Sugar City Powerfest went off like a frog in a sock during the 3 days of the burnout competition and especially the Battery Store Pro Cla...ss thanks to Jake King the manager, who was also our start line official helping keep everything flowing throughout the weekend. Massive fields of cars in every class and congratulations to all the winners and place getters. Just remember this was a qualifying event for Summernats 34 which has been postponed till 2022 but the 2 Golden ticket winners from the Pro Class will be heading to Canberra for the grand final now at Summernats Rev Rock and Roll on the 5th - 7th of March 2021. Pro Class Winner - Darren Kimber in Vicious on 823pts (golden ticket) 2nd - Wal Gersekowski in 1TUFHG on 794pts 3rd - Joe Gosschalk in BUGZILLA on 759pts (golden ticket) V8 Class Winner - Kev Davis in EPA WHO on 705pts 2nd - Keelan Heit in SKRTLIFTA on 703pts 3rd - Matt Smith in CUTNUTZ on 697pts 6 CYL Class Winner - Dean Air in THE WHORE on 656pts 2nd - Nick Payne in FERAL UTE on 559pts 3rd - Adrian Sitera in FKN LOCO on 536pts Ladies Class Winner - Giselle Karslake in BAFRAYED on 481pts 2nd - Taylah Nicholls in AGRO V6 on 479pts So close on the points in some of the classes and only 1 mistake comes between winning and not. Thanks everyone for the support and see you all at the next one https://summernats.com.au/summernats-mid-strength-march-20/

23.01.2022 Ok everyone we are looking for the loan of a large magnetic sweeper in Mackay that we could borrow to use at Palmyra Dragway to use for cleanup of the pit areas... at the track after burnout events and drag events. The idea is to make sure there is no metallic shrapnel left anywhere in the grounds to cause punctures on the tracks equipment or competitors vehicles. If you are a business or know one that may have one of these please get in touch with us to lend us some support. Cheers Jason, Sugar City Burnouts See more

22.01.2022 Well the burnouts are super popular at The Insane Performance Sugar City Powerfest which is no surprise, so here comes another 6 Cylinder entrant being Murray Todd with his 2003 Ford Falcon Ute called TUN A FUN. I'm sure that's exactly what he's going to have when he gets to hit the burnout pad in 4 short weeks. These guys are all gauranteed 3 skids for the weekend and I'm sure they're all going to make the most of it. Today is the cutoff for the earlybird entries as the price goes up $50 at midnight so if you're keen to be a part of this or even just want to spectate grab all the information and your tickets here. http://www.palmyradragway.com.au/powerfest/

21.01.2022 Well this year has been awesome and the support everyone out there has shown myself and the team at Sugar City Burnouts and Palmyra Dragway is amazing. We thank... you all so much and are really looking forward to 2021 that is going to be even bigger and better kicking off with the Australia Day Smokefest on the 26th of January with both a test and tune drag event as well as of course burnouts. Attached below are the latest rules from IHRA Australia which we are running under at Palmyra and these are also the same rules for all other IHRA sanctioned tracks in Australia. The main point I know we will receive questions about is the Logbook and licence that is mentioned. "THIS IS FOR PURPOSE BUILT HIGHLY MODIFIED PRO CLASS STYLE VEHICLES" At all events your standard or mildly modified street style vehicles will not require this, they just need to comply with all the other safety requirements mentioned in the regulations as well as you as the competitor, must hold or have at least previously held a norrmal driver's licence. (Not a learners permit). No special licences required we do not accept nor need AASA, CAMS or Speedway Australia licences. Just bring your driver's licence even if your licence is suspended you can still be a part of our events. Any questions please feel free to ask and as always "Keep it off the Streets" and make the most of our fantastic venue. https://www.facebook.com/events/833558634064026

21.01.2022 For all your mechanical needs give these guys a call. Major sponsors of the Insane Performance Sugar City Powerfest.

21.01.2022 We have all been working our butts off to put this together with the restrictions and the challenges that have been put in our way and we are getting closer to The Insane Performance Sugar City Powerfest by the second. 13 days to go and we cant wait to see all 134 of our entrants there. Biggest event in Palmyras history is about to be unleashed over the weekend of the 18th to the 20th of September 2020.

20.01.2022 Well it's looking like the ladies are getting keen for the burnout competition at the Insane Performance Sugar City Powerfest as much as the guys with Dominique East our next entrant keen to smash tyres. Unfortunately Dominique hasn't got to have a skid in her ride NTGILTY yet as her other half has been driving it and doing the 'testing' while he was finishing his car. The burnouts are going to be massive every night of the event following on from the dragracing, powerskids and shown and shine over the weekend so make sure you check out all the event information here http://www.palmyradragway.com.au/powerfest/ and grab your weekend spectator passes as well as with 4 weeks still to go and over 75 entrants so far for the event tickets are selling out fast.

19.01.2022 Dont forget everyone that Insane Performance in Rockhampton and now Mackay, are the major sponsor for the Insane Performance Sugar City Powerfest next month. So make sure you get in and support this great business with top level state of the art equipment and the knowledge and experience to back it. Thanks again guys for your support of what is going to be the BIG EVENT for the year in Qld. Cant wait

19.01.2022 We’ve also got a few stubby coolers left over from the Insane Performance Sugar City Powerfest as well for anyone who missed out. They are $5 each plus post or if you buy 4 we’ll post for free. Can deliver to Mackay as well as we are over there regularly.

17.01.2022 Well all I can say is wow!!! Bit late I know but the entries that came today have just topped off what was already a class field. If you haven't already got your weekend spectator tickets I suggest you go to https://palmyradragway.biz//powerfest-weekend-spectator-t/ and get them now because once you look at the lineup you know we are going to have one hell of a show at The Insane Performance Sugar City Powerfest from the 18th to the 20th of September at Palmyra Dragway. I w...ould like to sincerely thank everyone that got their entries in and to those that missed out I hope you can make it next year or as a spectator this year. I wish I didn't have to close entries but we can all thank Covid and those that haven't done the right thing. We are running under a Covid Safe Plan so I ask that everyone do the right thing at our event otherwise you may find yourself removed from the facility with no refunds given. You have been warned!! Check out the lists below and tag your friends cause you don't want to miss this one as this will be one of the biggest events for 2020.......

16.01.2022 A massive happy birthday to another of our great sponsors for the Sugar City Burnouts and the Sugar City Powerfest, Karinya Diesel Services from Biloela. Frankie and Kimberley Malone are bloody awesome people and great supporters of the burnouts all around CQ. Thanks again guys and make sure to drop in and support this great business if you’re in that area.

16.01.2022 Can anyone help Adrian out at all??

16.01.2022 This is the reason we are working so hard to make sure our facility is up to scratch to give everyone a safe and legal place to let off steam. There is a time and place for it and its not on the streets especially now with you all having somewhere to go. We will be running plenty of events throughout the year so make sure you support it and share with your mates. Sugar City Burnouts and Sugar City Powerfest are here to stay.

16.01.2022 Well it has been absolute bedlum here getting everything organised for The Insane Performance Sugar City Powerfest in just 8 days time at Palmyra Dragway. Even at this late stage we have had another awesome business come on board to support us and that is Mackay Harbour Engineering. These guys are Mackay's precision machining and engineering workshop and their machine shop houses every piece of equipment needed to keep your daily operations running smoothly, from lathes and ...milling machines to drills and borers; CNC to fabrication. For general machining jobs contact Craig Thwaite, and for CNC jobs contact Gary Smith. Get them on 07 4951 1422 or email [email protected] and [email protected]. You can drop into see them at 20 McCulloch St, North Mackay QLD 4740. Thanks again for your support and make sure you support those that are supporting us and our sports.

15.01.2022 How bloody awesome is this. Thanks so much to Paul Beck from Killer Rides Magazine for contacting us to do a write up on the Insane Performance Sugar City Powerfest. Thanks again to all our media for contributing and to all of our sponsors and volunteers for helping make it the success that it was. I’m feeling so bloody proud right now

15.01.2022 A massive happy birthday to one of the major sponsors of Sugar City Burnouts and Powerfest. We couldn’t bring you the show we do without great supporters like these guys. Support those that support us

12.01.2022 If you know someone with an outlaw car get them onto this and share around. Going to be a great way to close out the years racing even though there wasn’t much of it thanks to Covid

11.01.2022 Attention Entrants!!!! You all should have received your entrant details and the link for your crew passes by now, plus an email requesting pit allocation details. If you haven't got it let me know ASAP. Cheers Jason

11.01.2022 Another fantastic supporter of the Insane Performance Sugar City Powerfest this coming September from the 18th-20th is the team from Marchant Signs in Mackay. These guys along with the side business Whitsunday Trophies have done all of our printing work both last year and this year, sorted our trophies for us and are now doing all the new sponsor signage for the track. It's great businesses like this that are making our lives so much easier to bring you the best event possible in these trying times. Make sure you support those that support us. Thanks again team!!

09.01.2022 The next entrant for The Insane Performance Sugar City Powerfest is yet another burnout competitor being Erich Piller in 2003 VS SS Holden Ute called UNHOLY. With $3,500 up for grabs in the class you can be sure every one of these guys will put everything on the line, every time they get to the pad. This event is judged on the same criteria as Summernats with the difference being that to win this event it will take 3 killer skids with the points for each accumulated with the highest point score taking the gold. Grab your weekend spectator tickets at https://palmyradragway.biz//powerfest-weekend-spectator-t/ before their all sold out.

08.01.2022 Good morning and HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all you AWESOME Dads out there. Speaking of awesome Dad's what a lineup of them we have here that have all entered in the V8 class of the Burnout Competition at The Insane Performance Sugar City Burnouts that is just 2 short weeks away...... I'd like to introduce you Wayne Patullo in TRUCK YEAH, Shane Roberts the driver of BUNDYDAD10, Quentin Rogers in CHURRR, Marcus East in PGYBNK and Reece Middleton in the FASTLANE. These guys are all ...ready to tear their tyres up on the burnout pad chasing some of the $3,500 for their class. If you haven't got your weekend spectator tickets yet you better hurry as they are limited due to Covid and since putting up the entry list they are selling like hotcakes. You don't want to miss this one on the 18th - 20th of September at Palmyra Dragway. https://palmyradragway.biz//powerfest-weekend-spectator-t/

08.01.2022 OK guys and gals, I've decided that due to me being on night shift and not getting the chance to respond to several emails and messages, I've decided that we will extend earlybird entries till midnight next Friday the 28th of August. This now gives you an opportunity to get those entries in to be a part of the biggest motor sport event ever seen at Palmyra Dragway in Mackay before the $50 price rise. We have just cracked 90 entrants and the record at Palmyra is 112 so get on it and help make this event even bigger. We only have 4 spots left in the 6 cylinder class for the burnouts and may still have to limit other classes as well so get in as soon as you can to secure your spot. Cheers Jason Earl

08.01.2022 The first stand alone drag racing event for 2021 at Palmyra Dragway with a keep the speed of the streets event also happening on the Friday night. Get on it people and get off the streets and get those cars and bikes out of your sheds. No point having them if you’re not going to use them

08.01.2022 I'm guessing you all think The Insane Performance Sugar City Powerfest is just about the burnouts but you'd be wrong for thinking that. The burnout guys and gals were just super keen and got their entries in early whereas the Drag Racers are a little more reserved so there are plenty of entries that have come in to date. One of the fastest cars to enter so far is Katie Cunningham in her rear engine dragster with a 632 big block chev with nitrous so you know this is a 7 second car and she is a super consistent racer, and a definite contender for the $2,000 first prize in the class. You don't want to miss any of the racing action that takes place over the weekend of the 18th-20th of September at Palmyra Dragway. Get all the event info and weekend spectator tickets at http://www.palmyradragway.com.au/powerfest/

07.01.2022 Don't forget to support the businesses that helped make the 2020 Insane Performance Sugar City Powerfest the huge success that it was. These guys have got all your mechanical needs covered and have a mainline hub dyno on the way for all your performance tuning and upgrades. From your Toyota Land Cruiser tow car to your Blown Commodore show car these guys will look after your car like their own. Located both in Rockhampton and Mackay give Brad Challacombe and the team a call. Thanks again team ;-)

07.01.2022 The Insane Performance Sugar City Powerfest just keeps getting better and better. Our next entrant is definitely no stranger to the burnout scene and as a the promoter of Tropical Meltdown, another Summernats qualifying event he knows about putting on a show and that is what he is setting out to do in both Pro and V8 classes. I would like to introduce you to Kev Davis in his limita bashing LS powered Holden Commodore Ute called EPA WHO. With over $12,000 up for grabs and that Burnout Masters ticket you know Kev is going to give it everything that LS has got. Get your backside trackside September 18th - 20th with tickets and event info available at http://www.palmyradragway.com.au/powerfest/

06.01.2022 I hope all you guys and gals out there are ready for the drag racing that we've got coming up at the Insane Performance Sugar City Powerfest on the 18th-20th of September because we have one heck field of cars and bikes. One of the biggest fields is the Supercomp Bracket (Faster than 9.0 down the 1320) proudly sponsored by Insane Performance from Mackay and Rockhampton. If you're wondering what kind of track prep is going to be laid down the 1320 feet at Palmyra Dragway in pr...eparation for these guys and gals, you'll be pleased to know there a couple of drums of VHT ready to go. We have one of the biggest fields of Supercomp cars ever seen in Central Qld with just a taste of what's coming below. Already introduced to you all are Todd Marshall in his TD Cortina from Rockhampton with a PB of 8.87@155 and Katie Cunningham's 632 Nitrous fed BBC Rail with a PB of 7.01@195MPH from Mackay. We also have the likes of Rod Williams all the way from Dalby with his Supercharged 6 cylinder Ford powered altered with a PB of 8.63@140MPH, Jason Adams from Mareeba in his 540 cubic inch BBC Holden Statesman with a PB of 8.24@166 and Daniel Morris from Fernvale in his 412 cubic inch small block chev powered Pontiac with a PB of 8.04@170MPH. Just a handful of the Super quick cars and awesome racing we'll have chasing part of the $22,450 prize pool at the Insane Performance Sugar City Powerfest BRING IT ON!!!!!!! See more

06.01.2022 Hey everyone things are ready ramping up. Im on my last day at work and then non stop prep for The Insane Performance Sugar City Powerfest from the 18th to the 20th of September. We are looking for someone with a sweeper on a bobcat or similar to help us out during and after the burnouts for cleaning of the pad. It will be picking up rubber and bits of wire to keep it schmick for all of our competitors. We will be manually picking up the big stuff but this would be a massive help with the workload over the weekend. Would ideally like it sponsored but willing to negotiate. Tag your mates and share around for us please. If you havent got spectator tickets yet go to https://palmyradragway.biz//powerfest-weekend-spectator-t/

02.01.2022 The Insane Performance Sugar City Powerfest 2020

02.01.2022 Our next entrant in the 6 Cylinder class of the burnout competition at the Insane Performance Sugar City Powerfest is a keen young bloke named Grant Hill in his 2000 AU XR6 Falcon ute called BLOKE. I'm sure Grant must have gone through about 8 sets of tyres at our test and tune recently and he sure does know how to enjoy himself. In a massive field of 6's he'll have his work cut out for him over the weekend of the 18th-20th of September at Palmyra Dragway to try and get some of the $22,500 prize pool for the event. Only 5 spots left in the 6 cylinder class at this stage so if you want to enter get that entry in now. This is one not to be missed so get your tickets at https://palmyradragway.biz//powerfest-weekend-spectator-t/

02.01.2022 Covid-19 has certainly caused us some headaches and one of those is the border closure stopping our NSW contingent on making the trip up. Rather than taking a refund because they can't make it, Clyntin Perry the man behind ONGROG Engines and the owner of 'ONGROG' has decided to chip in a bit extra towards the event instead and become a sponsor as well. So proud of the people and the support we have behind us for the 2020 Sugar City Powerfest. Clyntin has promised that him and an even bigger group is coming to take on us Qlders next year so look out 2021 and goodbye Covid. Hopefully...........

02.01.2022 The Insane Performance Sugar City Powerfest had some of the quickest and baddest cars and bikes Palmyra Dragway has ever seen. Many thanks to Bradley Challacomb...e from Insane Performance for being the naming rights sponsor for the event and helping us put on some of the biggest prize money for drag racing in years. Congratulations to all the place getters and hope you all liked what we did for trophies. Can’t wait for next year See more

01.01.2022 Well Kims a bit busy at the moment sorting out shirt orders. Massive response from everyone with 191 shirts ordered in the first batch. If youd like a shirt or 6 let us know and place your order now as there will only be limited numbers available at the event. Final order going in by Tuesday so get in fast as they wont last. Singlets $30, Tees $35 and long sleeved shirts $40.

01.01.2022 If you’re keen to get out on the track and do some grudge racing with your mates get out to Palmyra Dragway this afternoon. Remember to keep it off the streets and support our awesome venue

01.01.2022 Ok everyone it's been a hectic week but time to get some more competitors up on the page. Our first entrant for the Race Bike class chasing some of over $8,000 in prizemoney for the drag racing, is Laeith Skinner on his 2013 ZX14R Kawasaki called "TAXI". This is one of many quick bikes and cars that have entered for the Insane Performance Sugar City Powerfest so expect to see some PB's out of these guys with a full prepped 1320feet and awesome weather predicted for the weekend. Weekend spectator passes available at https://palmyradragway.biz//powerfest-weekend-spectator-t/

01.01.2022 Ok guys and gals it is with great sadness that I must announce we are closing entries tomorrow at 5pm sharp. Entries will now only be accepted by a pre-approval process even up until then, so even if you send paperwork and make payment does not guarantee your entry. 6 cylinder class for the burnouts is now full so no further entries will be accepted for this, and due to lack of entries Street class will now join Super Street in the Drag Racing, as will Modified Bike join the... Race bike Class. I know this may not please everybody but unfortunately due to Covid our hands are tied as the venue is nearing capacity for racers and crew already. We have a phenomenal field of drag racers and burnout competitors entered and we have more than enough to put on a great show. Prize money is locked in for all classes of the event now, except street class in the cars and modified bikes of the drags which are now canned, so the cash prize money up for grabs is now locked in at $21,250 one of the biggest prize purses put up for grabs at any motorsports events in Qld. If anyone has any questions please feel free to PM the page and we will get back to you but keep in mind we work full time as well. Thanks everyone for the support and especcially those that made the effort to get their entries in early. You guys and gals will certainly enjoy this event. Cheers and see you in 16 days, Jason Earl.

01.01.2022 The 6 cylinder class in the Sugar City Burnouts competition at The Insane Performance Sugar City Powerfest on the 18th-20th of September is going to be the biggest class without a doubt. The next entrant keen to smash more tyres and clearance lights is Garth Spooner in his 1996 VS Holden Commodore Ute. Garth skidded the wheels and side skirts clean off this thing at the test and turn and we know he's hooked. Stacks, flags and in full B&S spec he'll be back to put on another great show. Don't forget for all the event info check out our albums or go to http://www.palmyradragway.com.au/powerfest/ for everything including your weekend spectator tickets. Just remember weekend passes have priority and once our venue gets to capacity unfortunately you might just miss out so get in and lock in a great weekend.

01.01.2022 Thats it entries are now closed for The Insane Performance Sugar City Powerfest 2020. Keep an eye out tonight for the full list of entrants and you spectators are in for one hell of a show. Stay tuned.....
