23.01.2022 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all my Family day care families and friends. Thankyou for being so wonderful and supportive since I opened in July this year. I have loved establishing relationships and friendships with everyone that walks through our family home. And I love caring for all the little ones and watching them learn and grow each day. I can't wait to continue in 2020. I will be closed between Monday 23rd December and will re-open Thursday 2nd January. See you all in the New Year!

23.01.2022 Today Oli loved the sensory play learning experiences! He played with the felt wooden blocks and paddle pop box inside. Then the sand and red spaghetti outside. It is certainly lots of fun exploring different materials and textures and tastes at Family Daycare!!!

20.01.2022 At Sugar Gliders childcare/family daycare this morning we practiced our fire drill procedure. It was made much easier with a double pram which was kindly given to us for this purpose. The children enjoyed being in the double pram so the experience was enjoyable, rather than upsetting. The fire drill is a compulsory requirement and needs to be practiced by all schools, childcare centres and family daycares.

19.01.2022 Over the past few weeks, the children have been interested in all types of animals: farm animals, jungle animals, domestic animals and Australian animals. They have enjoyed playing with them in different sensory environments such as water, ice and sand. Many of the children have now learnt to say some animal names and the noises they make. It is amazing how quickly they are developing their language skills, cognitive skills and social skills with this animal interest!!

16.01.2022 Water play has been a popular learning experience this week at Sugar Gliders Childcare. The children have enjoyed some ice cubes in the water too!! Brrrrrr, so cold but so much fun!!!

15.01.2022 At Sugar Gliders Childcare/Family Daycare this week we focussed on building new friendships. It was wonderful to see the children engaging and responding to each other as they were building their social and emotional skills. I can't wait to see what next week brings with these gorgeous friendships!!

12.01.2022 Lately at Family daycare the children have been building their gross motor skills such as balancing. They have enjoyed using the wooden steps as they arrive, throughout the day and then as they leave too.

10.01.2022 Today the children enjoyed looking at and feeling all the Christmas decorations and toys. They loved pulling at the ribbons and tinsel and feeling the felt textures. Merry Christmas to everyone and a safe and happy New Year!!

09.01.2022 This morning at Sugar Gliders Childcare/Family Daycare it was perfect weather for an outdoor tea party!! With lots of pretend play making drinks and eating healthy fruit, the toys were then taken for a play on the slide and rocking horse. There was lots of language development, cognitive skill development and physical development happening in the social environment of the backyard. And it was lots of FUN!

08.01.2022 Today at Sugar Gliders Childcare the children enjoyed developing their fine motor skills and creativity by using the egg crayons!! They had lots of fun pulling them apart and putting them back together like a puzzle. It is wonderful to see them engaging in new learning opportunities and having so much fun!!

01.01.2022 Charlotte loves to look at books and she is learning to say words. This is so important for her language development and I love her enthusiasm and desire to listen and look at pictures as I say the words to her. Even though her words are mostly babbling she can sound out some of the words which is so exciting to see and hear!! Each week her parents tell me the new words she can say. Her vocabulary of words is growing and as an Early childhood educator I am blown away by how quickly she is learning!! This is why I love my job so much!!! Children are amazing!!!
