25.01.2022 Progress shots of a painted illustration (2009). The finish on this instrument is VERY light varnish to protect the painting and seal the timber. The varnish was applied sparingly to prevent a chemical reaction with the paint, and the surface was finally hand polished to avoid sanding away any of the image.
