16.01.2022 We are URGENTLY seeking a Midwife to work in regional NSW to prevent the Midwifery unit going into service failure. Sadly this could lead to women having to drive more than 3 hours to the closest hospital while in labour. Something we are doing everything to avoid! So........ We are offering referral fees and a bonus on completion of the contract in an attempt to find someone to help! If you introduce us to someone who completes the contract we will give you a $150 referral fee - no questions asked. So please share this post! For the individual that takes the contract, they will be given a $250 bonus for every 4 weeks worked on site. 14.01.2022 For most people going to the beach doesn't need much time or thought & it is an activity that many love to do on a regular basis (I know I do!). When I was walking down the promenade in North Bondi the other day I noticed the improvements that the council have made & they are great to see! These changes make going to the beach now even more accessible for all.. There are lockers that have been created to provide a secure space for your own wheelchairs to be stored whilst you ...make use of the beach wheelchairs that have been provided. A portable beach access mat provides independent access to the beach for people who prefer to use their own wheelchair or mobility aid and currently the mat is rolled out twice weekly on Thursdays and Saturdays from 8.30am to 2pm, surf and weather conditions permitting, at the northern end ramp of Bondi Beach, near Wally Weekes pool. 13.01.2022 This morning Sugarman Australia had the pleasure of participating in a workshop by the lovely Jessica Hickman - The Bullyologist & dTERRA IPC Wellness Team. The workshop that was presented to us highlighted different areas that can be underlying factors contributing to your overall #Wellbeing Jess shared her own personal experiences during this session & it was explained to us how essential oils can assist promote your #Health. Jessica was once a victim of workplace bullying... but she came out the other side after practising & taking a holistic approach to help change her 'Mind Health' eg: #meditation, #mindfulness & #EssentialOils. There is a reason people advocate for these methods & that is because of the huge benefits they have witnessed on themselves & on others. I can speak for everyone here at Sugarman Australia when I say that it was an absolute eye opener of a workshop & a massively beneficial experience that I would recommend to everyone! Whether you are a carer of someone with a disability, a parent, a support coordinator or someone who works in a corporate environment then I urge you to reach out. 10.01.2022 Over the past couple of months, here at Sugarman Australia we decided to dress down and dig deep to raise some well needed $$$ towards Mental Health. So out came the comfies (sorry "active wear"), the double denim, and even the occasional sequin, and we managed to raise over $1500. Our chosen charity was Lifeline Australia. We chose Lifeline due to the fantastic work that they do throughout Australia. Lifeline helps people any time any day through personal crisis, and preventing and reducing suicide within Australia. Thank you Lifeline from Sugarman Australia, keep up the AWESOME work!!

09.01.2022 Meditation Mondays! We work in a sector that never sleeps and I believe working in wellbeing is the most rewarding sector! At Sugarman we are so invested in our clients, participants and families that we work with that sometimes we forget to stop and inject a bit of time into ourselves. We are very lucky here at Sugarman Australia to have such a great management team who understand the importance of self care and encourage us to take part in weekly meditation with Angel Singm...in. Look after yourself first and the rest takes care if itself!

04.01.2022 We love hearing good news stories & getting feedback from our workers as well as family members & support coordinators about our NDIS clients. Recently we heard from one of the families that they are over the moon with the progress that their Brother has made since our support workers have been supporting him. They never thought he would have the confidence to leave the house let alone want to stay out for longer. As well as this he would never let anyone help him with his p...ersonal care or effectively do his own self care- now the support workers arrive to support him and he will have washed and dried his hair as well as being dressed appropriately for the day waiting with a beeming smile on his face. For a very long time he has not cut his nails nor let anyone near him- he now allows our support workers to do this and is in admiration at his 'new hands'! These are small things to most people but these small things make a huge difference & is what good support work is all about. We are forever grateful for having such dedicated support workers working for us and helping our NDIS clients across Sydney.
